Some really awesome photography in here - a lot of talent in the O35 crew! Thank you ACC for starting this!
Here's my first contribution, taken from our land in Arizona a few years back. Single shot, no processing, just a bit of luck and patience with a distant thunderstorm under the Big Dipper.

So you're a pixel peeper eh?
Great sunrise... something I'll probably rarely get up early enough to see. Do you do a lot of traveling?
You always have beautiful work. Is the last shot an HDR?
Naw... welcome man. Good to see you here.
FF.... you're right. The 105mm would make much more sense, and probably much more useful in general. Thanks for the input, will order the longer focal length.Last edited by acrawlingchaos; 08-26-2014 at 05:10 PM.

Crikey, she's a beaut!
Been taking some late afternoon hikes nearby parks and came across some lovelies.
First up, a 3 foot long rattlesnake on Sunday. Fat and happy, it never even budged. Just looked at me and occasionally flicked its tongue.
And yesterday got our first tarantulas of the season - two of them. It seems early for the migration - I tend to think of them in late September. I'm assuming its a male looking for a mate, based on the long pedipalps (the two appendages in front of the fangs. Males use them to transfer sperm sacs to the female)

Maybe a post of the explanations of the basics of cameras may help. EG:Lense sizes, focal points, shutter speeds, lighting.Maybe an accommodating mod could edit the thread and put as one of the first posts or link to first post to enlighten those that have no idea as to what the technical jargon means.
Some decent pics in here,(I never thought watches could look so beautiful),and should turn into a great thread.
And I would like to know the significance of 10:09 and 7:10 and 3:42Last edited by pvsampson; 08-29-2014 at 06:35 AM.

Glad to see this thread became a sticky.
Some awesome photography. Makes me want to be on a beach with my dogs, looking at the sunset and stars and checking my Hamilton watch while rattlesnakes and spiders crawl around my feet. Of course my wife will be safe from them as she will be on my shoulder,
That about sums it up. Keep them coming guys, love it.pick it up and put it down
