You can't lose DLO for nothing, his contract is AMAZING value and leads itself to potential trades during the deadline.
Lakers won the FA off-season.. Gabe Vincent, Prince, DLO, Rui, Reaves, Hayes, and the ability to resign Beasley or another big literally closes the gap and makes them a legit top 3 seed and right there with the Suns and Nuggets

We need to trade him before the playoffs. I was wrong about him. I sung his praises and even tho he come through in one game he absolutely lost it for the team in the WCF. He had to just shoot normally and Lakers were at a minimum forcing a game 7. He just cannot be on the playoff squad unless he's coming off the bench that's all
I agree in general though Lakers got some great trade value

Kawhi is one of the most overhyped players in NBA history IMO. Yes he helped Toronto in 2019 but since then he's played less than 60 games per season - with one season completely off - and only 30 minutes per game when he's actually playing. Under 5 assists per game as well and no other major contributions besides his point average, which isn't even in the top 25 league wise.

if dame was ok with gong to brooklyn, the deal would be done, but their ceiling would be 5-6 seed. i get why he only wants miami. bucks and celtics are no joke. there's more parity in the league then there has been in a while, but there's really only 6-8 teams that have a legit chance to win a ring
heart also wants what the dick wants

He's not used to playing NBA style. Europe is quite different in size and aggression. Plus he was probably nervous as hell. Remember, the kid is only 19 and has a literal trainload of hype around him. Expectations are insane. Defensively he was good, he will have to work on the offensive side for sure.
Pop just re-upped for five years so I guess he really wants to coach him. He'll be 79 at the end of that contract.

Wemby's offensive game needs some work. Chet Holmgren is much more refined in that area than he is.. his iso game is not good, his 3 ball has never been good, he's slow going against G-league guys, his height and defense is always gonna make him a good player but there are some holes in his game that is gonna take 3-4 years to solve

To me he just looks slow and dangerously skinny compared to guys out there. Any big man he will go up against will outweigh him by thirty pounds at least. Hopefully they have him on a program and are bulking him up over the course of the season. Good thing is, SAS don't have any pressure to compete this year at all and can basically spend an entire year developing.
Plus, it's summer league where guys aren't really trying that hard except for the ones trying to make the roster. Portland's young guys actually looked decent last night and Scoot wasn't even playing.

Somebody with Brook Lopez' skillset is actually very unique and valuable in today's league. He's one of the top 5 rim protectors and can stretch the floor and shoots the 3 pointer above 35%. Name another center that can do that? Myles Turner is the only guy that comes to mind. That's very valuable to the Bucks because Giannis needs space to operate in the paint and he isn't a 3pt shooter. As opposed to Westbrook who can't shoot the ball, can't finish at the rim and turns the ball over every 3rd possession.
Meh, Kawhi was such a great player if it weren't for injuries I think you're underselling how good he was. Sure he isn't the best playmaker but he isn't terrible at it either. His scoring always translated into the playoffs really well and obviously played great defense. But at this point he is getting older and more injury prone by the day so I think his prime has passed. I'd take a prime Kawhi over anybody in this league right now except for perhaps Jokic and Curry. He's a very steady high performer and rarely has bad games and has had many clutch moments. Guys like Embiid and Tatum choke too much. Giannis IMO doesn't have a reliable enough shot and is poor at the free throw line to truly be a clutch performer.
prime Kawhi crew
As insane as it sounds, the Haliburton contract is worth it. He's a very young player, averaged 20/10 last season, a good 3 pt shooter. He could be one of the best PGs. Also salary cap will move up and suddenly it won't seem as bad. The Fred VanVleet one was kinda derp although I'm happy for him.Last edited by sooby; 07-15-2023 at 04:14 PM.

Zion and fam being sued for 2 million. Absolutely not a good sign.
Guy needs to cut ties with his family and play for the Raptors or somewhere far far away from his family. He's about to go down as one of the GOAT waste of talent.RIP Based Kevin Samuels
