After you have setup two Authy app installations, we strongly suggest disabling multi-device. Doing this will prevent an attacker from being able to configure an Authy app with your account on another device.

You're able to move keys and thus access between devices by default, it's SMS based, and by default an attacker can duplicate your account on another device if they gain your credentials.

That is not secure 2FA.

At some point you have to transfer a key/QR-code from the exchange's website to your phone when you setup 2FA. That's the key you must store. If you haven't, you can redo the 2FA setup (if possible at the specific exchange) or contact their support.

You can scan the provided code on your 2fa accounts onto a second phone\device to act as a hot backup.

You can also write the code down on a piece of paper (do not keep it on a computer). The code will work on any device, manually just enter it in and it'll link up and resume on any device you put it into.

Keep this paper in a safe place.

These are true points, but they are not the standard configuration. Which sadens me. I'm not sure how you can protect your Authy account strongly. How venerable is the account to being hacked, that setting enabled and then the keys ported to a new phone? I'm not sure. Is it's failure point the email address it's linked to? The SMS? I don't know the recovery vectors that it's weak to.
