I was at a local PIAS today and saw a Uesaka 44lb bumper, but there was only one of them. It was only .55 cents a pound and thought about a grabbing it, but didn't. Now I'm trying to convince myself that there is a legitimate reason to go back for it.

Here's a few photos from a hike we did a week ago last Friday. We hiked 16 miles that day with almost 2000 feet of total ascent. This hike was in the Superstitions, utilizing portions of the Dutchman, Second Water, Black Mesa, Boulder Canyon, and Bull Mesa trails. We had planned on doing only a 9 mile hike, but we decided to add on an extra loop midway through the hike.
My hiking companions enjoy the view early on in the hike. We had awesome views all day long. Even though it only takes about an hour to drive to the trailhead from my house, we rarely go there.
We saw a huge number of saguaros on the hillside to the left of us as we were hiking the Black Mesa Trail. Oddly enough, there were almost no saguaros on the hillside to our right. It turned out to be kind of an interesting shot, shooting into the sun.
This is a thistle flower. I was hoping to get a shot of the bee emerging from the flower, but wasn't patient enough to wait for it.
A view of Weaver's Needle. I once climbed to the top of Weaver's Needle, many years ago.
This is the view from high up on a little side trail that we found off of the Bull Mesa Trail. I don't know the names of any of the rock formations though.
The large plants in the foreground are chain fruit cholla. They were perhaps four to six feet taller than I am.
These white flowers might be fleabane. (I don't know that much about flowers. I do have an identification book, but a lot of flowers look alike to me.)

Great pics, Weavers Needle looks great. Are there paths to walk on, or can you walk off trail?

Isn't it weird that pirates would go out to shore looking for buried treasure but the real treasure was in the friendships they were making?

If it looked cool I would have grabbed it for my eventual art project.
It would also make good trade bait for someone like me who would want it.
For only $25 you could even just leave it parked on a calf raise.
This is not the forum of reasonable decisions, this it the forum where we buy / trade for cool stuff.

We pretty much stayed on the trails for that hike, though there were a few spots where we went off trail for a short ways for better views. I stitched together a bunch of shots for this panorama at one of the points where we diverged from the main trail - actually, there was a path leading to the overlook where I got this shot, but it's not an official trail.
One of the trails that we hiked briefly while looking for the Bull Pass Trail was the Boulder Canyon Trail. There are vast sections of it which are nothing but a big jumble of boulders. The trail crosses these boulder fields over and over again. You have to look for cairns along the way or you'll miss where to cross. A little over a year ago, my wife, a friend, and I did a hike which included the Boulder Canyon Trail. We started later in the day than we should have. We reached the Boulder Canyon Trail in late afternoon, and my friend talked us into hiking it to make a loop out of the hike. It took us longer to hike this trail than we had expected and I became worried that we'd still be in Boulder Canyon when night fell. Luckily, we did make it out of the Canyon while there was still (some) daylight. We ended up hiking back on the Dutchman Trail in the dark though. I was the only one of our group who had brought a headlamp. This picture, below, is one of the feeders to Boulder Canyon. The Boulder Canyon Trail crosses over even larger boulder fields many, many times along its length.
There are some decent signs at the major trail intersections (below).
Off trail hiking is permitted though. One of the candidate hikes for that Friday was a hike to Aylor's Arch. I got this shot of the arch from the Dutchman Trail, but there's a way, off trail, to get much closer to this arch. There would have been some bushwhacking required to do this hike. So long as I'm suitably dressed, I don't mind bushwhacking too much, but one of the women who often comes on these hikes hates it, so that hike was voted down. Had we done that hike, I would have loaded the track into my GPS so we'd be able to find our way there and back. I probably should get detailed maps of the area too; while I do have a map of the Superstition Wilderness, it's level of detail was coarse enough that I wasn't able to make out which trail the Bull Pass Trail (which we hiked) intersected with. That's the reason we ended up hiking part of the Boulder Canyon Trail - the map showed three trails coming together and it wasn't clear to me which trails intersected which.
Here's a view of Aylor's Arch from the Dutchman Trail. It's not that good of a photo since I was shooting into the sun.

I almost went back today, but then got side tracked.
The last time I was at the post office I picked up a flat rate box to mail some plates. I packed them the other day and returned to the post office to mail them today only to find out that the box I grabbed from the flat rate area, was not a flat rate box. Apparently someone had put some other boxes in that area. Well, I returned home to repack them and never made it to PIAS. Maybe tomorrow, after I go back to the post office and mail the plates.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #39 ▪█─────█▪

Recent pictures that I've posted to this thread were taken using a Sony NEX-7 with Zeiss 16-70 lens. I have a number of other E-mount lenses for the NEX-7 and some A-mount lenses too that can be used via an adapter. I like the image quality from the E-mount primes better than that of the Zeiss 16-70, but the fixed focal length is, of course, not as flexible.
I also have a Sony RX100II. It's a smaller camera, but still makes some very nice images.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #35

So I'm meeting a guy today to buy a safety squat bar. He had one pictured that he agreed to sell for $165. It is an EliteFTS, and in great condition. While I was making arrangements last night to pick that up, he mentioned that he has another one that is heavier, rated for more weight, and has handles. He has not given me the brand or sent pics yet, but we talked about $210 for that one. He said it is a $500 bar. Assuming that it really is a good bar--good brand/good condition, does that sound like a reasonable price?
I have a cheap SSB that I want to sell off once I get one that I really want (handles and nicer padding).[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]

So I picked up the SSB. The guy wasn't sure, but thought it was EliteFTS. It was actually the bigger model with the handles. I haven't put it on the scale yet, but I can tell it weighs about 80 lbs. I'll post pics when I get a chance to take some.

Skinny has a wedding to go to in OH this weekend, Matrix. 300 pounds of checked luggage shouldn't be a problem.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?
