You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Saw this 50 lb olympic Billard plate the other day. I've never seen anything like it. My guess (as well as some others) is that it's a bored out standard plate. It's double sided, not deep dish. Pretty cool none-the-less.
The warehouse owner offered to sell it for $20. He also said if no one buys it, he'll put it on eBay (meaning he'll probably ship it if you ask). Here is a link to the ad:

(Don't bother asking if he has any Yorks left).

Help identifying old York plates?
Hey, I picked up some old plates a couple days back and I was wondering how old they were... after scouring the internet, this appears to be the place to find out. Unfortunately I can't post pictures, but if you add forward slashes where the spaces are it should work:

Coincidentally, I picked up the weights from the same Craigslist add sboarder1964 mentioned

Hey that was fast! Thanks so much for the information... I just got my boys to bed so now I get to go lift for the first time in a couple years... I'm doing strong lifts 5x5 starting with the bar, so it will be a few weeks before the old York's get back in commission. It's kind of cool thinking about all the sweat they've seen over the last 50 years...

The 35s look to be late 50s to 70's. By the 70's, the direction of the "35" switched. The Hercules plates, if they have a "USA" stamp on them are the first version of York's economy line plates, poured here in the U.S. Subsequent versions of the Hercules line of Olympic plates were made in China. You could easily flip the 35s and get money for more plates, or keep them and put together a 70's/80's set.
Opie, there's a York thread for stuff like this. You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Atty, thanks for all the information! I like the way the plates look and I'll probably just stand pat, but out of curiosity, how difficult (expensive) would it be to pursue a full set of 70s York's, and conversely how much could I reasonably expect to get if I were to sell the 35s?
Thanks so much for your time and expertise!

If you knew what to look for when you made that pick-up, you could have made a whole set for $.50 a pound!
Yorks were mass produced for decades so it's not impossible that another deal like that would pop up. Otherwise, from someone that KNOWS what they have, expect to pay around $1 per lb., but higher on eBay. So you could easily double your money if you flip the 35s.

It pains me to take a day off for there is much weight to be lifted and life is short

What's up guys, been a while since i posted anything....finally something to report. i got lucky and picked up a complete set of russian kg bumpers and a barbell (no collars). they are in great shape. not sure what the brand is, it has an A or a triangle as the brand. it's the exact brand that the popular Xfitter Dmitry Klokov uses in one of his home gym videos. not everyday i find a near complete russian set. the barbell itself is pretty bad ass. i will post pictures later.
