[Mech6]

Mech's have better attachment to the rack, but the Rogue ones don't have bulbous counter weights which makes them kinda cool/sleeker looking. I guess the bulbous ones screw on to offer adjustable overhang and be more compact when shipping?

Is there a way to accomplish that function without overhanging weights, like a self closing heavy duty hinge or something? Just wondering... But it is probably better to keep things as simple as possible and rely on gravity.

The arms on mine are 1"x1" solid bar, with a "full" hook section, and additonal steel plates on each side. So, heavy. And an offset pivot. Which is why it requires the larger (5lbs) counterweight. I was thinking about slimming it down, but the "target audience" seems to be against it.
And yes, it comes apart for shipping purposes.
I thought of a torsion spring. I thought of a gas spring. Both would work. But gravity doesn't fail.

Skimping on UHMW is just something that rubs me the wrong way. It's not expensive (especially in bulk) & fairly easy to work with.

It's not ugly, but I think that's why they made it red... it pops. That's great, but I don't want to pay for paint. I'd rather have the unit even just clear coated if it meant more UHMW.

I'd love to know the cost of Mech6's version vs this one. I want to see what the profit margin is. Granted, they might not make a lot of these. The ******** posts concerning crossfitters were hilariously true. "What is this?" LOL.

Outside of Mech's version (which I agree is far better), none of the other options have the things you are talking about either. That is why I think this is a pretty good unit.

Agreed, it does look awesome and I like the design. The only thing it's missing is a way to quickly attach/detach.

you probably could replace all bolts with those slide pins, and there's your quick attach/detach. Mech, correct me if I am wrong but it seems that even with pins neither of these monolifts are going anywhere.

But I guess an even more interesting design would be to have these attach similarly to jcups. Not sure if it's even possible, and I'm not nearly qualified to know... paging Mech...

A jcup style design is how I thought Alex put on his monolift from mech in his video.

Uh, mine do attach as j-cups. And you can't just replace the bolts with pins on the rogue unit. Pins would have to be on side faces for that to work. The way it is now, the pins would eventually pull out, and someone would die.

Ya, but they do require the 2nd locking pin comes in through the rear of the upright. Not an issue with drop-ins however.

You can do numbered uprights with 11ga I tought it was only available on 7g.
