I started with that exact one. Swapped out every part except the mag release, bolt catch and I think buffer tube.

Good to start with cause you can customize exactly how you want and have basic spares (stock and grip)

Is this a simple plug and play/simple to set up? Without doing research, I'm interested. Thought about a dashcam a couple weeks ago when some retard wearing a mask while driving nearly swiped my front end. Had forgotten about it since, but now that we're talking about it I'm ready to get one.

Pretty much, yes. Might spend a few minutes running the power cable across the headliner and down the A pillar for most installs so the camera can be high and center, roughly in front of the rearview mirror, without any cables showing. That's pretty much it

The vast majority of car crashes are rear-enders, so if you get a front cam you need a rear cam too. I got slammed a couple years ago and while liability was obvious, it helped to have that cam footage of a piece of sh!t uniformed TSA agent staring down at her phone on the way to the airport plowing right into me. GEICO didn't dispute anything, just a matter of damages.

When rear ended, presumption is pretty much that it was their fault, and unless, like, they back up and speed away and flee the scene and you are hoping to get them on camera, even if you only have front facing, viewing the video and the totality of other evidence, your camera will show what you were doing up to and during the collision which is generally all you're going to need.

I personally was rear ended while running a front only dash camera several years ago. It was still useful. You could see the lane I was driving in, speed, acceleration rate/deceleration rate, see my turn signal reflecting off the sign, see that I came to a complete stop for several seconds, in the correct spot at the stop sign, then there was a sudden jolt, and then I pulled over on the side of the road at the exact spot that I had pictures of me sitting with her car behind me...you get the idea. They can't say you slammed on the brakes, or say you changed lanes and cut them off and hit the brakes, or you were going under the minimum speed on the interstate all by your lonesome, etc. Lots and lots and lots of evidence in the front facing camera, even when rear ended

But, I do have a rear camera in both vehicles now. If somebody is holding/staring at their phone when they rear end me, it'll be there.

M5E1. Holes didn't match up, broke the takedown and pivot pins trying to get it to fit. Called Aero and they told me to just drill it out, which I did. They also wouldn't even send me new pins without paying 15 bucks each for them. So fuk em.

You can get USMC marked rears all day long off Ebay but people will hag you for buying stolen government property lol

The KAC rear micros are overrated but whatever. If you like peep sights they're good and easy to dial in. Better options out there though.

They sold their fleets when air travel collapsed. Plus, there’s the Hertz bankruptcy (and Hertz owned a few other rental agencies).

And now vehicle production is lower because of supply/parts unavailability, so even if they wanted to repopulate their fleets that wouldn’t be easy.
