I'm back from a long hiatus of recuperating from a back injury. Its not possible for me to do anything heavy or isolated at this time so my single source of should training comes from the triceps press bench. But even then its very slow and controlled but I try and get in as many sets as I can. I wish I could do lateral raises: front/side/back, but they're just out of the question at the moment.
High volume is pretty much the way I do everything right now. I tried squat but with the keto energy drain it was a one way trip straight down. I try to call on energy to come back up and nothing happen. And yes, that's with light weight.
Maybe I can start a bulk in 6-8 months. But for now, recuperating is my main reason for this cut. It still is painful, but at least it keeps me from just sitting on the sofa eating pork rinds all day. Move to south Florida. Still in the 80s in October.
We're pretty close in size, what works for me, should work for you, don't you think?Ok going to add more shoulder stuff once cals are back in. I am just doing 5/3/1 now with minimal accessories to keep as much strength I can on the big 3.
Fortunately, abs don't require a lot of size, and they're already there just waiting to be revealed. A bit of repetition to firm them up (I used to do several hundred crunches) and you should be good to go. Of course if you want them solid enough to withstand the unanticipated gut punch, that's going to require a bit more effort on your part. That's a typical desert temperature ratio. No such extremes anywhere around here.I train my abs very hard now, but I didn't start until this cut. I am sure next year's summer cut they will be much larger.

How did you hurt your back? I also took off all last year from any heavy compounds because of chronic low back issues. Nothing crazy serious though and it only affected me in the gym... Yours sounds serious though.
Taking time off didn't help. What cured me was starting over from a 95 lb squat/135 deadlift and not wearing a belt. I wear a belt now, but only on top sets.
If you are on keto, try MCT oil for energy. I actually got off pure keto and went to traditional no/low carb on off days, some carbs on training days, and loads of carbs on weekends. It's working a lot better.

^it's pretty difficult for the body to convert excess carbohydrates into body fat when there is an absence of dietary fat. the majority of the carbs will go to glycogen stores, and then much of the excess calories from carbs will be lost through thermogenisis.

I'm now at that awkward bf level where large shirts are too big and mediums are still a little too tight. Abs are starting to show just a little though, so hopefully the shreds are right around the corner.

Hey brahs , been lurking this forum for the past week or two. just need some advice or someone to put my mind at ease haha
Coming up to the end of my first cut (next Saturday when i go on holiday) but im finding it extremely hard now. Just feeling bad for losing weight and a bit of size and now my head is everywhere . Started at 175lbs, lost about 15lbs in around 10 weeks putting that at around 1.5 pounds a week. Hows my macros looking , not sure whether to change something up for the last 10 days? This has been my diet for the past 5 weeks with a weekly refeed on Saturdays. Went a bit over the top the past Saturday but it was my birthday so i didn't really care , had about 5k cals . also
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...3250641&page=1 might give you an idea of where i am at

lol my refeed was on saturday. i just worked yesterday longer than i thought. so 26 hours was just what happened.
no offense but those pics were from before my refeed. idk where you got your phd in broscience.
if i was going to call it a binge i would of gone all out and had fuking burgers, candy, peanut butter, you name it. it would of 20k+cals. srs.
binge does not equal refeed. they are different. imo. idk
well see. im weighing in on saturday. a week after the refeed.
woodbery 10/10 looks good as fuk
yeah it was probably a spill over. but im not competing anytime soon. so i wasnt really concerned about it. im just gonna see what the weight is in a week.
yeah i think im just full maybe a little fat gain. but who knows. idk.
yeah thats what i was reading. but i was just worried about the whole cals in vs cals out thing.
anyways looked leaner this morning. haha
