I've been having issues with my MTB saddle recently on prolonged climbs. Decided to figure out sit bone width/saddle sizing and discovered I've been running a saddle 2 sizes too small. my sit bones are just a hair over 130mm, which directs me to a 150mm saddle, I've been rocking a 130mm saddle. eek.
Went with the ergon SMC3 saddle (size large, 155mm) and am PUMPED to try it out. Expecting a LOT out of this upgrade. I'm on the border between the medium and large so decided to go up a size instead of down.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

interesting... i might get a 3 person tent and just blow up my air mattress. I've tried to go minimalistic but I'm going to say fuk it since I'm car camping.
i had awful back pain with the stock specialized saddle. i forget what wtb saddle i got but no issues now. let us know how the ergon feels no homo. i considered that when i was looking around.
so I've worked in riding road during the week. the loop I did today was 20 miles and just over 1k elevation (according to strava). going to do something very similar every tuesday and wed. theres a bunch of strava segments that ill wanna hit hard. i think doing this for a bunch of weeks will transfer over to the mtb.
edit; oh and horry chit i want the gopro 7... the hyper smooth is soon hnngg. its not a gimbal killer but if mounted on the helmet it looks to be almost perfect. would love to share the trails i ride. words can't do justice to the tech in my area. i need to get a new rear wheel before that tho.be the turtle in the race.

Looking to pick up cycling as a hobby and for cardio. I've been looking on the internet for an indoor exercise bike. Is this one any good? https://www.amazon.com/ProGear-Exerc...SIN=B01G7KAK9M

NICE! Glad it worked OK for you. When I tried it with my old bike, climbing became really awkward & bad because my natural position was pushed back so far with the shorter stem.
You are using MAXXIS ARDENT RACE on the back??? I think I will switch to those because Minions are a bit of overkill in the weight/rugged department now that I'm picking smoother lines this summer.
swapping out rims/tires for lighter alternatives will save me about 11 oz per wheel... Seems MASSIVE considering rims/tires are the outermost piece of rotational weight on the wheel.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

Yes. I am running Ardent Race tires in the back and a Conti X-king in the front. Great tires! Had a X-king in the back before, but it would leak sealant like crazy. Read that Conti tires typically only seal well with THEIR sealant, but I wasn't about to buy it since I have plenty of Stans.
From this morning. I saw a bobcat.Last edited by Carloswithac; 10-07-2018 at 11:22 AM.

Cool, ill have to lace up a new rim onto my back hub, then toss the ardent race on it. Im thinking the 2.35" will be perfect on a WTB KOM i25 rim. Fast fast FAST!!!!
Putting a heavy AF minion on the front of my bike was a wake-up call to how much wheel weight can effect performance.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

What would you guys consider a typical person/average cyclist/above ave/elite pace for a bicyclist on flat ground over an hour time frame?
13 mph / 15 mph / 17 mph / 20+

i got hired today at a local shop that services my bike. the shop has been around since the mid 80's and is pretty old school. the head mechanic is a wizard. im looking forward to learning from him.
bcuz they're old school, they aren't up to date with modern mtb stuff, they mainly do road but the head mechanic has done is a good job with my 17 enduro. im sure he could figure out how to do the suspensions stuff.
this isn't a full time gig. working a few hours on tues, friday and every other weekend. i have a tight schedule with grad school and my day time full time job but fuk it. i wanna learn how to wrench.
no idea what my hourly pay is. figured the knowledge will be priceless. my angus is pepperedbe the turtle in the race.

Bot a Stages power meter for my CX bike, fcking has drop-outs ever 10 secs on my Garmin 1000....Seems to be a common issue with the Garmin and weak Ant+ signal on the Stages...Trying to get a refund from Ebay. Has anyone ever done a refund/money back when the seller is refusing to provide a refund? Believe ebay has a 100% guarantee policy so I should get my money one way or another, just takes time.
Bot a 4iiii new. Heard those don't drop.

spent about $400 on a new mtb rear wheel. my current one is the one specialized ships out on their enduros. i've beat the chit out of it. tons of dents in the rim (surprised it seats tubeless), broken many spokes and blew up the pawls a few times. its honestly been holding me back. ive been scared to hammer down on techy sections because thats how my pawls in the hub have busted before.
said fuk it ordered a hope pro 4 laced onto a dt swiss xm 481. cant fukin wait. ill post pics when i get itbe the turtle in the race.

Need to learn to lace your own wheel boyo.
I just laced up 32 new spokes on my road bike wheel a couple days ago. Learned to lace wheels back in highschool on my bmx. Looking at some new mtb rims now which will need lacing. I was bending rims like crazy 2 summers ago due to picking the WOAT line possible in almost all scenarios; this gave me some good lacing practice lol.
Edit: id love to open a shop. Maybe strictly a rental/service shop. Find the most profitable segments of shop ownership and focus solely on those things. Sell the rentals to anyone interested.Last edited by HMFIC_BROWSIN; 10-11-2018 at 05:41 PM.
