    Why are mixed grips considered as a leverage? Are deads really easier with MG?

    Not considered leveredge in the deadlift, but it makes it easier to grip bar if that's what you mean. I don't do MG because I am very paranoid of a bicep tear. I would be wrecked if that happened. So I minimize the risk by not doing MG. I can MG any weight I want with deads, its not a problem, and its easier than DOH. If I were to compete in PLing, I would use hook grip, because I can hook grip any weight I want also.

    Hijacking for a minute.

    Lime- I did MGs for a year. I believe it has caused my arms to not be proportional. It's not noticeable to peers, but I can notice it.

    Idk if its because of Mixed grip DL's, but my left bicep (overhand) has a nice peak, right (underhand) is very noticeably less peaky, but is stronger lol.


    I too worry about a bicep tear but mixed is a lot easier, and i just train my biceps to be strong.

    Switch it each set for maximum muscle balance. It will help your grip even more too.

    I'll try to deadlift in DOH next time. Maybe in warmups. lol

    Thumbless grips are supposed to be better in squatting - something about wrist alignment, but I noticed my wrists hurt more when I do thumbless grips.

    A thumbless grip with a straight wrist helps prevent wrist pain/issues associated with attempting (conscious or sub conscious) to support the bar with your hands and arms.
