All of it is bull****. The testing, the app, the vaccine... a retirement home that was vaccinated (residents and workers) in BC is having an outbreak. Glad that vaccine that doesn’t protect anyone except yourself... doesn’t protect yourself...?

Had the first soccer game for my almost 3 year old on Saturday. He laid down inside of the goal the majority of the time and got tangled in the net so bad I had to go get him out lol. There was one kid who was actually kicking the ball and scoring who is also a blonde kid and another parent came up to us after the game and went on and on about how impressed they were that mine was actually trying to play the game. Do you pay attention to your gut biome/flora? I found as long as I am keeping a regular intake of probiotic stuff my stomach and everything else is a lot happier, keeps inflammation down too.

Plus eating sauerkraut and kimchi every night gives you 10/10 morning farts, its a real pipe cleaner.

Actually that is exactly what I was doing before. Gave up beer/caffeine and starting eating “healthy gut” food. Like kimchi, real sauerkraut, this fancy pickled cabbage and the real fermented pickles. It definitely helped. I was hoping to “heal” the gut and for a good 7 months, I was good, I could drink coffee again. But I’m right back to old lady, sick all the time.

I’d just keep it up. I go through the big Costco jar of sauerkraut once a week. I add pickled peppers, carrots, cauliflower and other stuff.

Try going with a darker roast of coffee. It’s counterintuitive but darker roasts are easier on the stomach, reduces the caffeine and the roasting produces a natural antacid.

Not sure why military protocol hasn't kept up with CDC guidance. New guidance says you can test out of quarantine after 7 days (test must occur at least 5 days after contact) if you have not had any symptoms. Even without testing, quarantine is down to 10 days if you have been symptom free.

The only part that guidance the military has caught up with is those that report to the medical clinic with symptoms. And we're talking about ANYTHING. You would have to call the clinic, report symptoms, schedule a test and get quarantined. Used to be the full 14 days even if you tested negative. Now's it's 7 days if you test negative. Actually, that just changed. You have symptoms, you isolate, test, if it's negative, you get an extra day I think then go back to work.

So the old policy was creating a LOT of problems. Dirtbag airmen would report symptoms all the time and get so much free time off work. Supervision couldn't do anything about it either. Couldn't get them for malingering because it was CDC guidance.

However, the policy hasn't caught up in the close contact department. Get a close contact trace and you're Q'd up. IDK, the initial email says 14 days. Maybe if my test is negative today, they'll change it. Today is day 5.

Tweeked my neck/upper back benching on Monday. Was in a hurry and didn't warm up properly. Now, sleep sucks since the pain wakes me up every time I move. Had a couple cocktails last night to help me sleep, but didn't seem to work very well. It's better today, but still hurts.

Watched our School Board meeting last night. Kinder-2nd grade goes back 4 days per week starting April 12 (after spring break). 3-6 goes back 2 days per week. Still no plan in stone for 7-12. I will put my kids in Private school if they don't go back to full in person next year.

Our ISD hasn't dropped the mask thing yet. I haven't really noticed any difference since Abbott lifted the statewide mandate. Only about 25% of the gen pop was wearing a mask and no private businesses weren't enforcing it so things are exactly the same as they were before. The people who wanted to wear them still are and more power to 'em but you can miss me with that chit.

In our District, public schools k-12 have been shut down for in person learning for a full year. There are some neighboring Districts that went back as a modified schedule last fall for a short time, and private schools have been a mixed bag from shut down to full in person.
