Love the selection of equipment
latpulldown/low row --- high end GHD --- high end seated calf --- hammer strength mid row
Would be exactly my choice if I had the money.

Finally have my garage portion put back together. Added 3 stall mats from a closing Crossfit, need 9 or 10 more. Put up the vertical bar hanger. On the look out for a cable crossover or ft. Basement portion with dumbbells, pulldown low row is thru the door on the right.

There are pictures of my old basement gym, really a spare bedroom in the basement, in this thread somewhere.
However, new state... new house... new gym. This time in the garage. This house has everything but a room for my gym.
Oh, well... adapt, improvise, overcome.
I don't want to put lag bolts in the garage floor so I started out with a Rogue oly platform with 4 sheets of 3/4 plywood laying crosshatch inside. The wood warped a bit waiting for the frame to arrive so the weights held it flat for a few days:
Same posters and bar rack on the wall:
Then I put some 24"x24"x.5" recycled rubber mats down that I bought from Home Depot. Secured them in place with some black drywall screws:
All done:
Then put my new Titan HD rack in and bolted it down. Also a "new" free bench from a neighbor that's labled "Power Block" that I'm going to try. Also shown are the jack stands I use as bar jacks to make loading the bar for rows and deadlifts easier.
Also visible are the adjustable Bowflex dumbells I got free when I started this whole thing. I got the adjustable Bowflex bench as well. May keep using that if the new one doesn't work out.Last edited by tanksoldier; 06-15-2018 at 12:05 AM. Reason: Added missing pic

Moved to a T-8 setup with the the Titan 10” extension. Removed all the rarely used equipment and fine tuning my setup. The 24” section is now a dedicated pulley setup, I ordered a custom length cable from Yukon Fitness, just need to order another low pulley as I used both short pulleys on the top. With the 10” extension the uprights are more like Rogue uprights and have the 6” holes spacing up the side. I used these on the front of my rack and will soon order the Rogue Echo GHD Foot Roller with the 2” attachment side.
Working on working out...

Thank you, in the section adjacent to the treadmill I have Hammer Low Row, Hammer Incline Chest and Hammer Shoulder Press.
These are a few shots taken on a phone, I intend to do a decent photo shoot and will post more pics.
Thanks a lot, the Bravo colour was just pure luck,, I'd been looking for a Bravo for some time, most of the units I'd seen were pretty beat up. Then I found this one, like new condition and the colours are a real bonus.

I managed to pick up two stall mats just in time for the cable crossover delivery. It needs some weight stack pins and a good cleaning. It looks better in the pics. Also need to clean up the left side of the gym now that I have pretty much taken over the entire garage. Need 6 more stall mats, and maybe some more hammer pieces.

You guys have some amazing set-ups going on!
Thought I'd post what I have to make those who don't have such elaborate set-ups feel a little better. This is my dirty, dingy old dungeon, cobwebs and all lol.
I've slowly accumulated everything over the years when I could, making due with what I have.
The blocks I just made yesterday, spent $50 total at Home Depot for all the materials (way better than the ridiculous $800 price tags they have on some of them).
I also bought the black mat yesterday. I plan on slowly expanding it to cover the entire floor, as well as adding a weight rack and more plates.
The next major thing I'll be adding will be a power rack, as the squat stands really aren't good enough for doing bench or squats without a spotter. Due to my low ceiling (82 inches with a few pipes hanging a little lower) I'll have to go with the short version.

nice work man. I have always found it tough to understand why it's worth paying so much money for jerk blocks. I just can't seem to wrap my head around it.
I'd recommend you pickup an olympic bar and weights before the power rack. your standard bars are probably too short for the rack anyway
you deserve a power rack man, even if you have to build one out of wood (there's a DIY thread floating around here somewhere).Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

Lol yeah. I call it my torture chamber. I kind of like the feel, it helps get me into the mindset, ready to bring the pain, you know.
Yeah blocks are way overpriced for what they actually do. And they're so easy to make it just baffles me why anyone would pay that.
So why do you say olympic bar before the power rack? I've wanted one but it will be quite an investment to replace all my weights, so maybe further down the road.
And thanks I'll look up that DIY thread!
Exactly!

I had bought up three sets of cheap used standard plates over the years, which was cool because I was able to set up five pairs of dumbbells at different weights so I never had to change plates during a workout. When I started lifting more, I gradually needed to buy a few additional 25-pound plates per year. When I got even more serious in the past two years, I considered buying an Olympic set, but instead I bought two standard-plate powerlifting bars that I am EXTREMELY happy to have. (Seriously, it became awkward and dangerous to be using over 200 pounds on the bars that came with the 100 pound standard sets. I’ve had 400 on the powerlifting bars and they felt completely secure.) Just recently added a couple of 50-pound plates to make a nicer starting height for deadlifts, but otherwise a stack of 25s on the bar is fine for me. So I’m a happy camper with standard plates, but that makes me unusual.

Hi irongrandpa,
My fitness equipment store guy said he bought these powerlifting bars on one of his runs to the factory in York, PA (about two hours away) many years ago and they just sat in his storeroom since then. (Not much demand for high-capacity standard plate bars I guess. ). In one of the pictures I posted on BodySpace you can see the knurling and finger ring.

I will take some better pictures to post sometime next week and then also ask over in the York thread if anyone knows more background. At age 64, I've exceeded all my prior PRs. Not “over the hill” yet. :)

In response to the requests from irongrandpa and gym62richard, I have put together some photos of my standard-plate powerlifting bars. They are slightly larger than real 1-inch bars, so I have a couple of plates I can't use on them.
These first two photos show the nicer collars on the bar I use for bench press ("bar 1") and more basic collars on the deadlift bar ("bar 2"). (Bar 2 has shallow holes in the ends that you can see in the second photo.)
On this third and fourth photo, you can see that the step in diameter between the plates section and the knurled section is not very big. Rather than use another set of collars, I simply use a set of low-weight plates that has a center hole that is slightly smaller than my other plates. I've also chosen those plates to give the bar-plus-inner-plates convenient total weights of 30 pounds for bar 1 and 25 pounds for bar 2.
In case you can help me figure out what they really are, here are the stats. The fitness store owner (whom I trust) says they are powerlifting bars he bought many years ago on one of his runs to the York factory (about two hours away). I don't know the true capacity of the bars, but I've already used 400 pounds without any problems or noticeable flexing. I'm not sure if they are designed to be standard-plate bars or if they are just Olympic bars without the rotating sleeves.
Bar 1: 86.2" (2.2m) long, grip region 54.1" (1.37m) long, plate region 16" (40.6cm) long each.
plate region diameter 27mm (1-1/16"), grip region diameter 29.9mm (1-3/16").
finger rings 30" (76cm) apart, 14" (35.5cm) unknurled region in center.
Bar 2: 84" (2.13m) long, grip region 51.4" (1.30m) long, plate region 16.4" (41.7cm) long each.
plate region diameter 27.5mm (1.08"), grip region diameter 28.5mm (1-1/8").
finger rings 32" (81.3cm) apart, 15.75" (40cm) unknurled region starts inside that, but with a 4" (10cm) knurled region again at center of bar.
If anyone knows more about these bars, I'd be very grateful to hear it!At age 64, I've exceeded all my prior PRs. Not “over the hill” yet. :)
