So OP, do you like squatting in Oly shoes? I used to Olympic lift and squatted in Oly shoes and very deep. Developed some hip issues that never went away until I switched to squatting in flats, slightly wider stance (medium like yours) and stopping a tad below parallel. Pretty much I squat with your techniques in the video but with flats instead of Oly shoes. I miss the stability of a solid heal though and am thinking of going back to using my Oly shoes but continuing my current squat form. Any comments from you on your form, depth, bar position and shoes? Have you been Squatting with this style/shoes for a while?

I enjoy squatting in Oly shoes - I think it is the best type of shoe to squat in given my form. I have actually only been using the Romaleos 3 for a few weeks. I had used a pair of Adidas Ironworks II since 2009.
I have been dealing with a lower back and hip joint issue for about a year, something deep squats may have attributed to. After seeing an athletic trainer once or twice a week this summer, I have focused on cutting my depth higher. This has helped with reducing the magnitude and frequency of pain. As you can see from my videos, sometimes I still go far too deep.
I definitely need to widen my stance a bit more (it's about shoulder width right now). I have always used a low bar position. I have plenty of videos that show a pretty consistent squat form throughout the years.SFW

**** yes. Matched a squat PR from 2/3/13. Need to cut my depth much higher - second rep was far too deep. Last time I benched 305 was for a single on 12/19/12. Need to set my back better for deadlift.

Thanks! The biggest change is the lack of significant knee cave. I still have it, but it definitely has improved.
Depth is the primary concern with my squat form right now. I go far too low with the heavy sets, which I believe is the cause of the nagging lower back issues. I am able to control depth with volume squat weights for the most part.
The new gym is incredible. I have just been doing Volume Squat and Intensity workouts there. The other gym I train at is onsite at work and is 24/7, which is VERY convenient. The PL gym doesn't have the best weekend hours, but they are going 24/7 come December.SFW
