I'm confused a bit about it. Do I need to eat at a deficit? All of the "getting started" guides have me going on maintenance calories.

Yeah, TKD is carbs before and after working out. Worked great for me . . . felt I had much better performance and energy the whole week and I didn't really like waiting for the refeeds and how I reacted before and after. I never tracked a thing when I was on it. I was pretty overweight for me and was looking to cut quickly/effectively, so I just ate when I was hungry and stuck to the carb limits. Fat came right off and I thought I kept a good deal of lean mass.

75gr A-Maxes can't really be loaded for mags.
