Didn't read anything from this thread besides the first page, but why do people think you were either born gay or you chose to be gay? That's like saying you were either born with diabetes or you chose to have it.

While there may be a genetic component (not proven), being gay is do to environmental effects. Nobody exactly knows why. The fact that kids are more likely to be gay if they have 2 gay "parents" shows they aren't born that way, and the twin studies.

I agree with the guy who said that homosexuality is a disorder. I don't believe it's a choice. I do think that there are people who either try to be gay/pretend to be gay because being gay is in vogue for some reason right now, but true homosexuality is not a choice.

I say it's a disorder because the biological purpose of any species is to reproduce. That's why men and women are attracted to each other. When a male or female grows up to be homosexual, that precludes them from reproducing. Therefore, it's not "beautiful" or "unique." It's a genetic flaw.

That said, I don't judge homosexuals for being that way, and I support their right to marry.
