Taking the CFA 1 in dec, completed a bachelors in finance and other ****---doing it for the $$$$ and the stressed environment to make the $$$$. Thinking of specialising in derivatives and futures, much better than RA's or Unit Trusts. Anyone work a floor like at the CBOT here?'It is foolish to fear what you cannot avoid'

With regards to FOREX trading....
If you are a noob.... Don't (serious).
Forex trading is notoriously tricky for various reasons (not the least of which being that it is a 24 hour market - get used to not sleeping if you are going to trade actively). General advice on this topic given to me has been unless you are SURE you know what your doing - don't trade FX.
Someone else may be able to help you with stock.
EDIT: Yo Cody! Posted my ride above!.

When do you leave for the Navy? What's going to happen with your vehicle while you are gone? How long are you gone for? Can you make $$ while you're in the Navy? Is it full time? Will you be away from home? (srry unaware at how all that's gonna work)
I wouldn't feel comfortable buying something of that size unless I had:
a) A stockpile of savings to cover the entire purchase without going into debt
b) A steady flow of income where the payments on the purchase (car, television, or whatever) are well below 50% of my paycheck

Hmm.. You make good points..
Ill try to answer all
1.I get paid while in the Navy, Ill be most likely entering as E-1 ,going down the Navy Challenge SEAL pipeline, which means if I make it though BUD/s I get 42g's bonus, 20 upfront 20 later
2.Its 6 years ACtive , 2yrs reserve
3. I leave July 10th, 2010
4.I'm gonna leave my vehicle with my friends parents. (basically not a problem(
5.I'll be making money in the Navy not TOO much though, as an E-1. =(
6.Yes away from home
7.I might qualify for b, but even if not under 50 % being that I have a nice stash of protein right now, I could afford to devote all my funds to a car..

Yeah fair call - would be super comfy and reliable too.
For me it has always been about the horsies.
Have some pretty extensive mods right now that are going to push it into 911 territory....
Fun car is fun.
Anyway FINANCE CREW!!! I have been up chillin' and drinking with you all night, but it is now 3:40am and I need some zzzzzz's
And remember - sub-prime mortgage backed derivatives are bulletproof *eyesroll.*.

Based on what you've told me, my advice is to either:
a) Buy a cheaper used vehicle, under $3,000
b) Get at LEAST 40hrs/week of work if you MUST have the $7,000 car
and in all honesty, because I'm a minimalist, I'd combine a) and b) and choose:
c) Get at least 40hrs/week of work AND buy a car that is $3,000 or less, and save the extra money
Good luck
