I-Day today. Rib still feels like crap. I got it checked out on Wednesday and the exact thing that I would happen, did. "Oh we can't see a break but rib fractures are hard to see on X-ray, here's some anti inflammatory and pain meds." Thanks for nothing. Have felt like crap all week and have consequently have had very little appetite, and I've been sleeping like crap, so we'll see how today goes. Why are you doing triples for bench? Are you alternating 5rm and 3rm?
Sucks about the rip pain. Maybe do front squats lieu back?trying to get strong again

I'm using more of a building format. I-days I'll do 1RM, the next I-day for bench I'll do that weight for 2, then the next I'll do that for 3, then I up my weight the next time. Same with OHP. So far so good. I feel like the weeks are manageable and I'm not killing myself to keep up with progression in weight, so I won't have to deload. The whole rotation makes it out to be a 6 week cycle because of alternating OHP. So I'll gain 10 pounds on bench every 6 weeks. I may need to do something else for OHP since it's so much lower than all my other numbers.
Thanks for the luck, I checked on Wednesday and it's just the new belt that was jamming my ribs and creating the pain, so I'll either try with a different belt of unbelted today. Maybe 4 inches is just too thick for midget body... January 25, Week 5
Intensity Day
Mother Phuckin Full Squats!

Decided to use the new belt anyway, because I'm retarded like that. Not really, Wednesday my goal was to find out exactly what messed me up, and I did just that. I used a tad wider stance, and kept a more upright back angle (I didn't let myself get folded in half like Arian11). 5th rep was a helluva grind. Came out of the hole just fine, got to 135* extension and just got stuck... for 3 whole seconds. Finally finished the rep, could only see stars, walked around for a bit until my vision cleared, checked the mirror to see if I blew a vessel in my eye (didn't) but I blew a whole bunch of capillaries in my forehead and around my eyes. Looked like I had rosacea yesterday.
Bench

Nailed it. Bench is getting a lot better. I think I'll be able to hit 251x1 in 2 weeks with little to no problem.
Deadlifts
You ready for this? I was.
Belted up for my top 2 sets, was very conscious of my torso angle so I didn't crunch a rib.

Now I see what everyone was talking about last week when they said my 365 was easy. I had to fight for every single rep of 375, crazy how all I did was keep my back tight and focus on pushing the floor away from the bar and they all came up. After the 3rd rep I contemplated leaving it as a triple and hitting the 5 reps next week, but I told myself, "Negged, *******, you've already got your belt on, and liquid chalk on your hands. Quit being a pussy and do it." So I got the last 2 reps, rested a bit, added 10 to the bar, and pulled 385x1 which actually seemed easier than any of the 375x5 reps. No videos this time.
Worked out next a 5'9" 215, BB manlet. Asked if I did bb and I told him, hell no. Showed me a picture of him at a show, I was like, "cool, you should clean up your deadlift form, you'd be able to pull a lot more than 315." Some people just don't understand the whole strength/size thing. (I probably don't either, I'm phucking 165!) Did not have too great of a weekend as far as rest and food goes. Stayed out late friday drinking for the first time in months, and was up late saturday, hardly any appetite today so I'm forcing it, sucks. Back is still sore from deads, going to keep eating and roll it out all week. This week I'll up my V-Day squats to 280 and see how it effects I-Day. 275 might have been too little, which is why 325 was such a grind.

I went to a sk80s (skeighties) party. 30 or 40 of us dressed up in 80s clothes and wore retro skates at skateland (the super ghetto skate center) and tripped over kids, got knocked down by kids, and got yelled at by kids, it was pretty fun. Didn't really strike me as your kinda thing. 12 year old kid tried to pick a fight with me. Told me to come at him. I just laughed and facepalmed... him.

Used the belt, turned my feet out a bit more, kept the same "more upright" position. Felt great all the way to the bottom. None of these were grinders, but my last couple reps were definitely tough. Increase in toe angle really started using some different muscles. I dig it.

Two consecutive weeks of gains after an annoying stall on my Rows. Feels good. Guess I won't hit 185 this cycle, but the 180 just felt so smooth going up and down. I like the Pendlay row, so explosive.

Calling out HighFivan. Wore the shortest shorts I own to the gym today. Sliders were peeking out underneath, especially while I was squatting. Bishes were definitely 'mirin. No one would get near me or take a pic-a-roo, so everyone will have to wait until I take a PR video either this Friday, or my max out next week. You gotta quit being so self conscious about dem legs!
