You're addicted to me bro. I can always count on you. Not for intelligent baseball discussion of course, but for an insufferable tag along c*nt responding to anything I post most definitely.
P.S. I see you don't want to actually weigh in on Kelenic. Maybe you have learned your lesson after all and want to avoid more embarrassment to me. I am surprised something finally sunk in to that small brain of yours."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I like it but I'm hesitant. Rumor is he wants a 15 year deal, which I don't really like. The last thing I want is another A Rod situation where he's bad or injured the last 4-5 years of the contract and we're paying him 40 MM a year. I think an 8 year deal would be ideal, but idk what he would accept. Bellinger would definitely be a shorter term contract, but he's more of a wild card than Soto. Yeah he's a better fielder but what's to say his bat doesn't disappear again?

No one likes me and yet I've kick started discussion over the last few days in this thread yourself included.
Face it, you need me. I have far more value ITT (and in life in general) than you ever will. Just say thank you and we can end this."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Still amazes me that we got Soto, and the headliner of the deal was a guy with 9 starts last season, coming off a broken elbow and some "prospects". Maybe Thorpe ends up being a stud, but more than likely he's James Kaprelian.
Great deal, especially if we keep Soto long term.I walk amongst you.......but I am not one of you.

why this slant is dragging this out is beyond me. He says he wants to WIN bad...first and foremost. Thats not the Cubs, or the Blue Jays, for sure not the Angels. Definitely aint the Giants when you know you aren't beating the dodgers.
LAD offers winning, stay on west coast, stay in LA where all your people and trainers are, where your comfortable already with all your cats. Oh and you win mega millions. Whats there to think about?I walk amongst you.......but I am not one of you.

Yeah it's a great deal for Yankees. I don't mind giving up King. He was untouchable a couple years ago but plagued with injuries since then and got shelled a lot last year. He did well when he converted into being a starter, but that was only the end of last year and a very small sample size.
I did kind of want to see us explore the Murakami option though. And I don't see that happening now.
I've started like 5 franchises in MLB The Show 23 until I really decided what I wanted to do. But I always sim most of the first year. Ohtani went to the Marlins once (lol) and every other time he went to the Giants.
Talking IRL, I think you're right. Dodgers make the most sense. Definitely don't see Cubs and Toronto. And as the other guy posted Giants wouldn't be terrible, but he would just lose to the Dodgers every year.See Krackerjacked's sig

Yeah I wish he would just f*cking sign too. Like everyone knows you're going to the Dodgers dude.
Whatever they pay him is going to be paying way too much for one player though. I have my doubts he'll be an effective 2-way player for much longer. He's already not pitching next year. Then I can see him maybe pitching his age 30 and 31 seasons before tapering off with that being a good idea.
He's going to end up being a massively overpaid DH for 9 or 10 of the 12 year deal the Dodgers probably give him.Last edited by SoutheastBeast1; 12-08-2023 at 07:38 AM.

The shortest distance between Los-Angeles and Anaheim is 24.10 mi
The shortest route between Los-Angeles and Anaheim is 26.17 mi (42.11 km) according to the route planner.
The driving time is approx. 34min.

This is either fake news or all his talk about wanting to go to a contender is fake news
Would love for him to not go to the Dodgers though."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. LMAO at this endless string of minor league signings/tradings with a few subpar bullpen arms mixed in. Happy they traded for Kelenic still but I swear this team makes moves just to make themselves feel like they accomplished something over winter while not actually doing jack sh*t.
For comparison the Dodgers have signed and traded for a grand total of 3 people to this point. The Yankees have doubled that with 6 players, but 3 of those players were Juan Soto, Trent Grisham, and Alex Verdugo. Ya know actual f*cking players."One day I won't be able to lift any more. I’m not saying they won’t make money off him but they’re was actually an economist who did a deep dive on this
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/...-generate.html
The economic impact he had on the US economy in 2022 was something like $150 million from ticket sales and merchandise
Keep in mind ticket sales was for both home and away games in this estimate, the away earnings being something Dodgers would not be getting. And a heavy percentage of merchandise sales (like 85-90%) goes to the manufacturer (Majestic and New Era for example), not to the team. Plus you factor in revenue sharing that’s required to take another piece of that away from the Dodgers.
I’m not bothering calculating out what the Dodgers will or won’t make off him cause I don’t care enough, but I think you’re overestimating how much they’ll make by calling this a cheap deal.
I think it’d be generous to say they clear $100 mil off him while paying him $70 mil though."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever.
