Spent the weekend fleshing out my elance/ upwork profiles. thanks for your book bg_1. it was a good read.

I'm bidding on at least 2-3 jobs a day (combined) and lets see how the first few months of this go.

I eventually want to be charging pretty wicked hourly rates in online marketing, moreso than what I could make at a 9-5. Then I'll prob put a freelancer site together and focus on building a elite client base.

My problem is I need some kind of specific niche down or focus. right now i'm bidding on seo, ppc, email marketing jobs, marketing planning / auditing, ecommerce, all kinds of stuff.

Yes, I founded an agency in the ecomm SEM space.

My advice to you is to specialize, as it will be far easier for you to 1) maximize your utility as a worker, and 2) sell yourself to prospects. Where do you want to be in 5 years? Now how do you get there? I think you're best off in PPC, but I'm biased as that's the route I took.

Site looks nice as fawk. I would do this:

Get a new logo, visit canva.com you can create some sick banners there, check the pics on my blog or the link I posted above, banners were made from there.


Where you have "SHOP" I would make that more appealing " The Stuff Every Man Dreams About Owning" < pretty crap but you get the idea.

There was actually a guy that set up a website about a few of the books he released called isbookXYZforyou?

Where he tried to DQ unqualifed prospects just because he knew a few things:

1.They wouldn't get value from the book
2.Even IF they found a way to perceive the value, they wouldn't take action behind it (thus not getting value from it)

I've realized recently, DQing people from your product is actually a great way to ensure that those that DO stick around will be more than happy with it (if they're not, you can always say I told you what it was, you went ahead with it, whose fault is that).

He leveraged this and his book pretty much exclusively gets 4/5 star reviews as opposed to how Amazon usually works aka 5star and 1 star reviews average the book out (as you have unqualified/people that SHOULD have been DQed buying it) and this ultimately can hurt the truly qualified prospects.
