not sure if serious. you're going to need a lot more storage than that. you should be using fast RPM drives (velociraptors) or SSD's in RAID 0 configuration. Then you'll probably need another RAID 5 array for storage.
also the GTX680 is not the graphics card you want. The Geforce 670 and 680 were designed mostly for gaming and not for compute purposes (CUDA and OpenCL). I'm assuming you're running either Premier Pro which uses CUDA or Sony Vegas which uses OpenCL graphics acceleration. Plus the 680 is way overkill for the CS and COD. A GTX580 or a Quadro workstation card are much better choices for your purposes.
Supported NVIDIA graphics cards for GPU acceleration in Premier Pro CS6:
GeForce GTX 285 (Windows and Mac OS)
GeForce GTX 470 (Windows)
GeForce GTX 570 (Windows)
GeForce GTX 580 (Windows)
NVIDIA® Tesla C2075 card (Windows) when paired with a Quadro card as part of an NVIDIA Maximus™ configuration
Quadro FX 3700M (Windows)
Quadro FX 3800 (Windows)
Quadro FX 3800M (Windows)
Quadro FX 4800 (Windows and Mac OS)
Quadro FX 5800 (Windows)
Quadro 2000 (Windows)
Quadro 2000D (Windows)
Quadro 2000M (Windows)
Quadro 3000M (Windows)
Quadro 4000 (Windows and Mac OS)
Quadro 4000M (Windows)
Quadro 5000 (Windows)
Quadro 5000M (Windows)
Quadro 5010M (Windows)
Quadro 6000 (Windows)
Quadro CX (Windows)
Tesla C2075** (Windows)

Should I buy a second GTX 670 FTW right now? I want to SLI two of these especially for when I get a 27" monitor, but that won't be until later this year (December maybe?) Anyways I am afraid that the GTX 670 FTW cards will sell out and there won't be any at that time. Does EVGA continue to make more of their high end FTW line typically?

Any suggestions for a graphics card $150-200? I wanted the HD 6850 but it's phased out so I won't be finding it at local stores. Anything around that price range that will give comparable or better results? I'm running an i5 2500k and hoping to run games with high fps/settings.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of a gaming pc but I'm doing my best to cut the cost where ever i can:
gtx 660ti - when it comes out
i5-3550
asus p8z77-v
samsung 830 128gb SSD
8gb ram
600 w psu
I wanted to ask should I stick with 3550 vs 3570k because I don't intend on overclocking. Can anyone else recommend me a good case as well that doesn't cost much? thank you

Take your pick on these cases. Gets the job done for cheap. I actually like aesthetics of the bitfenix case the most.

The gtx 660 ti were in Best Buy this weekend when I bought some hdds during the tax holiday weekend in MA. They were going for $300. If I were you and wanted to save some cash, i'd look into getting the Radeon 7850 or GTX 560 ti.

Ordered the lenovo u410 for 1050 with a 3 yr warranty, Thoughts on the specs for the money?
3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3517U Processor (1.9 GHz),
8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD 32 gb ssd
14" HD Display
NVIDIA GeForce 610M 1GB Graphics
I bought an air but bootcamp is pissing me off and I'm not a fan of the mac os. Saw this deal and thought I would hop on it. Didn't need a ultrabook just wanted something portable. I dont game, just normal multi tasking and coding for school.Last edited by importfan878; 08-15-2012 at 10:28 PM.
