The NFL is extremely frustrating for me anymore (and has been the past couple of years). It just seems like the rich get richer (Pats, Giants, Packers, etc.) while other teams just make mistake after mistake (Cleveland, Bears ... signing someone like Glannon, etc.) And being a Bengals fan it feels like they consistently just do absolutely nothing. No money spent, no changes, just draft picks after draft picks each year hoping they hit on someone.

I mean I respect what the Pats have been able to do, but at the same time it really stinks that it's March 9th right now and I bet you I can already sit down and name 6 of the teams that will be in the NFL playoffs already next year. It never changes, and if someone does sneak in (like Oakland) they are gone after the first round anyway.

ESPN's Dianna Russini reports the Patriots "are considering" a trade which would send CB Malcolm Butler to New Orleans in exchange for Brandin Cooks.

New England reportedly tried to land Cooks earlier this month, but their package including a first-round pick was rebuffed. Butler will not cost New England much this year after they placed a first-round tender on him, but he will land a massive deal as an unrestricted free agent next spring. Trading him now would fit the Patriots' recent modus operandi of trading walk-year players rather than giving them big deals. Throw in the fact New England just gave $14 million a year to Stephon Gilmore, and there are plenty of reasons to give this report credence

Butler wants to be paid and he's not going to get it here. This is a real rumor.

Very good point dazed, it does come down to QB play a lot of the times. Defenses help as well, but if your QB is weak (look at Houston last year), the defense can only do so much.

Cooks is getting a TON of talk this offseason. I thought the Eagles would land it but it sounds like they aren't willing to part with anything close to what it's going to take to get him.

Matt Kalil is meh/10. If the Vikings let him walk (a team whom is absolutely gashed at the o-line position) he's probably not what he once was.
