I will be asking you a lot more questions I'm sure. You know your sh*t. Thanks for the help.
lol thanks Chaz.
Thanks Tim. Gonna look for the vid soon.
lulz Dan and I hope you didn't overdo it Nick. Thanks both of you.
No idea what that stands for.
Thanks brah. My programming is essentially just trying to always and add weight to the bar. As long as I do that and eat enough I get bigger.
Thanks Zach.
Dumb? How come I made progress then? I see no problem with lifting that long as long as its working. Plenty of guys lift that long. Even Wendler, the guy who made up 5-3-1, the program you're doing
No doubt your progress has been stellar Jason. But don't be so quick to say things like that. It worked and you can't argue with results.Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

hell yeah!!! its seems like your back now. it's good your trying venom's workout. he's an animal. like to see how that works for you. it turns out that I can't back squat because it bothers my back, but it seems like I can front squat. I front squatted today and my back was okay with it. I was repping 225. And don't worry, I'm not starting any new logs lol. I'm using that same log I had last summer Tobi's countdown to power. I'll race you to 225x20 lol. I think I can hit at least 10, but I'm trying to gain some strength back on these and break PRs. I'm still going to get my x-ray and go to a PT, but I think my main focus this summer will be front squats depending on what the PT says

Had more on everything. Squats were the hardest tho. Was going to do chins but I listened to my body and decided to hold back for now just encase. Got a decent pump and I looked jacked in the car window. Icing arm now just encase. And I'm really really hungry so I'm about to have a fatty meal. I also smell terrible but a shower/fap will have to wait. My garage was about 90 degrees and I was sweating buckets.Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

Thanks bro.
Glad you feel the same way bro. Too bad we don't live closer to each other. You'd prob make a good lifting buddy (no homo). I only have one bro IRL that's been lifting like we do for a while and he still lives 40 min away. Everyone else I know enjoys drinking/smoking/sitting. Only one dude wants me to train him/help him out and not to sound negative, but I already have a feeling its not gonna go well from past experience. This girl I just met however is showing some strong enthusiasm about lifting so this might go well. I really enjoy getting people into lifting. Thinking about hitting up a gym and becoming a trainer for sh*ts and gigs.
What injury is still bothering you? I might be able to help now that I have learned a few more thing.
lol indeed, checking soon and kill it bro.Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

Yeah bro. All of us on here are the odd men out. It is nice when you finally find people IRL that lift like us tho. In some ways it makes it that much more enjoyable since it is a bit of a rarity. I feel like an outcast tho lol, I'm totally fine with that btw and its funny how it all plays out. I'm known as "the bodybuilder" or "the guy who lifts weights" etc. Then I go to the grocery store and fill up my cart to the point of it overflowing and everyone stares. Random sh*t like that. But I kind of get off on it now. I also wear sweatpants 90% of the time and carry a big ass water jug around everywhere.

Great work in there today, happy to see you coming back healthy and strong. I know you might not think so, but reppin' out 385 with 0 fuks given like that is pretty impressive.
Wish I had friends IRL who cared about lifting like this. Everyone talks about how much they love it, but they just lift when its convenient, with no plan, etc, which is why I never lift with a partner. But people probably think I'm a ******* for being so passionate about lifting when I don't even look like I lift. And while I guess my numbers aren't AWFUL(at least for my size), they're certainly nothing to give a second thought to. You, I'm pretty sure anybody would look at you and know you lift, but I don't think many people at all would know that from looking at me. I lift for me, first and foremost, but that's one of the reasons that I'm really trying to gain some LBM now and eating to ensure that it happens.

I smiled at this.Today I'll do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not trying to say it won't work (obviously it did for you). And some of my sessions have been close to 3 hours myself. But I hate spending that much time in the gym. When my sessions go long, I just skip a couple of the lesser importance accessories to get back to my life. My only point was that if you are considering a different routine because TM had you spending too much time in the gym, drop some of the accessories, because I'm pretty sure you could get just as much out of it with a 2 hour session as you did with the 3 hour ones.

Solid workout! great to see heavier weights return. will be great when you're back to 100% - lower numbers in the past were beastly. Pretty good SOHP for moderate weight too. I'm envious- haven't been able to SOHP since December - but will be living vicariously through your successes, ha.
btw got two vids posted- first from AltaBird, second one from squaw.
Looks like steady progress and injury on the mend. good stuff Colin

Thanks DOM. I dunno if you care or not about people judging you for being so passionate about lifting.....as you put it, "they probably think you're a *******" lol. Whatever. I don't care what others think and neither should you. If people negatively judge you for doing what you do, then they don't deserve your time or attention. Its funny how quick people are to pass judgement, especially when it comes to this subject. Whats weird is what we do is mostly positive, we're certainly not hurting anyone else by doing what we do, but there are also underlying negative notions that people have about this whole game. Most people automatically think we're conceited, narcissistic, shallow, etc etc. Not even going to get into the drug talk. A lot of them also feel like we have this sense of superiority and they can be intimidated/threatened by us. Which usually causes them to think more negatively of us, or even go further trying to put us down, making an attempt to belittle us, in order to make themselves feel better. Like saying we lift because we're insecure. Labeling us negatively. Whatever tho, I'm just writing down what I have been observing, like I said before, I don't give a phuckkkkkkk and its fun living this way. I think a big part of the problem is the sheer ignorance everyone has on this particular subject. Not many people know the truth about this lifestyle.
Just like you, I lift for myself, not for the attention of others. Bodybuilding did however start growing on me a few years ago and I do like trying to get aesthetic. But not for attention, that's really just an added perk. Its addicting to experience the endorphins we feel after a hard session and seeing the strength progress as well as the physical progress in the mirror. I can say with confidants that you and most other people I talk to on here are in no way similar to some of the descriptions I wrote above, so there is a problem with the way a lot of us are viewed and for the sake of other people (not myself cuz I don't care) I hope that changes soon. Lifters with good physiques seemed like they were viewed as almost gods back in the day (golden era), now its nearly the opposite lol.Last edited by dopamine72; 05-07-2012 at 09:39 PM.

Oh gotcha lol. Thanks for trying to help with the advice. That makes sense and I would agree. TM was two long/big session a week, then smaller ones combined with lots of rest. I might like something a little more evened out.
Thanks bro.
High rep/light weight for that tendinitis. I'm talking bitch weight here, weight that makes you feel like you need to go put on a tampon and pop some midol. Slowly add the weight and volume. Do the work before any other lifting. And always, always ice it after you're done lifting immediately. No food, no shower, no fap etc. ICE FIRST. For 30 min. As long as you don't get frostbite you can ice for however long you want.
As far as the pec goes what do you mean by overactive? Maybe see a PT and get some ultrasound + electrostim? Stretching? Oh yeah, ice after any of that.
Thanks Tim. Hope your shoulder gets better soon. Might wanna hit up a PT or something. You have insurance? I have been meaning to check those vids. I'm really manic right now haha. Don't worry I'll get around to them Yep, seems like all of us are in a similar situation.Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240
