There's a theory about who/what that horned demon Walker at the end of the episode is. It's not explained in the books (never mentioned, that scene, or anything like it) but some people have just pieced together a theory based on lore from the books. If anyone's interested I might post it, or can just PM to know.
Personally I think it's likely to be the case, but interested to find out for sure.

I read the books and as far as I'm concerned this is a good thing. It's about fuuuukcing time we got some new info, and they way I see it, doesn't matter whether this comes in the form of show or book. It's still part of the got universe. BRB waiting another 10 years for the books to conclude the story.
The readers getting rustled over this are probably just mad that they're losing their huge head start on the show watchers and can't constantly gloat about knowing what's going to happen.
Hopefully they will do the same with Bran and Jon's story lines (among other characters)
Bring on more story advancement HBO.

I agree totally. I'm 33 and I want this chit to end before I'm 40. Been waiting since my teens.
It's nice now to watch the show and be like "WTF is that, I don't know what's going on." We are now feeling the same thing as the non-readers.
And I always suspected the White Walkers were more than zombies - just that in the books no one had a point of view to relay it.Please read this: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/time-to-man-up/

I'm hoping we get to see Littlefinger put his little finger in Sansa Stark.
And I don't want to hear anything about **** time. She is 18 now *******s! Time to show some T&A.
**edit**
Damn she probably wasn't 18 when they were filming. Oh well naked Sansa next season.Motorcycle crew

this. I think the books and show complement each other. Like I said, there were some serious theories destroyed last night lol. I am all for it though. I like that they arent going by the books exactly. Why would I watch if I already know whats going to happen down to the last detail?
GRRM needs to hurry the fuk up with book 6 though, god damn cant take this sh!t.Order Will Be Restored

Well maybe think about how this white walker is different to the ones we've seen before. All the others (after their post season 1 redesign) have looked really similar - the one on the horse from the end of S2, (who may be the same as the one that delivered the baby) as well as the one that Sam killed - they looked like half naked bearded, long haired frozen primitive cavemen.
This guy, though, looks like a fully clothed Darth Maul if he just got found in the ice like captain America. He's standing with twelve others in a creepy line near an ice altar in the middle of icecrown citadel. And he's the one that picks up and converts the baby. Seems to suggest some kind of ritual or even religious significance unless the show was just trying to make it more dramatic. He must have some specific role, if all WW could convert babies they'd just do it on the spot at Craster's, unless the altar is important to it as well. Fuarrrrk so many unanswered questions
By the way, we saw this horned dude in an earlier episode this season, but wouldn't have noticed/recognised it until now:

note the horns visible for a second??

Saddest moment of the episode for me was when Hodor got stabbed in the leg

There are about 20 different main characters in GoT, if you think people who haven't read the books are going to remember every little detail or every 5 minute scene with Sam then you're dumb. And it is little until we see more than a couple minutes total of white walkers on screen.

They're talking about Jon Snow becoming some kind of commander or some leadership position...isn't he like 17-18?
