What's the best tea in terms of taste/ health benefits? I'm at college and find myself wanting to drink something hot on these cold days. Hopefully something that I can buy at the local supermarket. Thanks alot.

Oh god, don't drink tea!! It'll make you implode!
Just playin. Seriously? Any tea you can stand the flavor of without adding sugar/honey/cream/whatever. I like Chai Tea and Red Rose (black tea) but avoid them at night because they're caffeinated. The whole green tea will help you lose weight thing? Maybe if you're drinking a bucket or two of it a day. Drink whatever you can stand.
You know what makes an amazing hot chocolate? Heat some water in a microwave for 2 min, mix in 1/2 TBS powdered cooca and 1 scoop chocolate casein or whey (I prefer casein cause it actually thickens up the water) AMAZING. You can thank/rep me later

Jasmine Green Tea. I first discovered it at Cost Plus World Market. Faaaaaantastic. No need for sugar or honey. The downside is that it is a bit expensive. There are cheaper versions at the grocery store, but they don't taste as smooth.
Short term Goal: To cut back before bulking like a demon.
Mid term Goal: To find myself.
Long term Goal: To get what's mine.

I like tea a lot...I'll have to side with BookMonkey and say Jasmine Green Tea is great. I like any green tea really. I buy loose leaf and use a steeper. My local health food store has about a dozen different loose leaf teas. My mom actually just came back from SanFran and she got me an oolong (not sure what kind) but she said it was like $125 a pound! She got me 4oz, I'm pretty excited to try it.
Yeah sorry for the long reply...in short any tea is good and good for you. It is unhealthy when you start to add a lot of sugar, honey, cream, milk...ect.

Well if you put a table spoon of honey (60kcals), cream (~50-100 kcals) so maybe 150 kcals per cup. Now depending on how many cups you have a day, maybe 2 in the morning another couple through out the day and one more in the evening. You could easily add ~750 kcals to your intake.
I'm not saying it's bad for you health wise, but if you are trying to hit a goal intake and you think the 'little' honey and milk you add to your tea is not enough to count then you could hurt your progress.

If you want a naturally sweet tasting tea that has no sweetener added, get your hands on some Good Earth Sweet and Spicy. Stuff's good.
If you like Chai, the Stash brand makes some good tasting chai.
Honey is good as far as sweeteners go, but if you are looking to bypass the calories they add then get your hands on some packets of stevia. I use this brand - http://www.amazon.com/Stevia-Supreme...2245585&sr=8-1. Tastes great in beverages (and everything else) and is relatively cheap. I buy them 5 boxes at a time.

lmfao you guys are totally awesome.
Adding a bit of milk or cream activates more of the polyphenols in the tea because the milk or cream allows more to bond with it, i just remember hearing about how a lot of stuff usually breaks down but milk is like a bonding agent or somethin..
But anyway, why are you trying to call him out on his post like that? you could have just simply corrected him.. ANYWAYS this post is about recommendations on tea.. sooo you both should make a whole new debate post and talk it out on there or just start postin some Super AMAZING Tea replys!
xD
I know there is a tea Its called maybe i think Passion tea? its red and AMAZING but i KNOW theres something added on to it because it TOTALLY doesnt taste plain.. its just amazing.

Green tea fits greater than any other tea in my macros, although I do drink many different kinds of teas everyday. As someone said above jasmine green tea owns everything, probably the most tasty non-sweetened tea I've ever tried.
Chammomile with black tea is good too, as well as some other slight fruit flavors.
