MJ
Kareem
Magic
Bird
Wilt
Duncan
Kobe
Hakeem
Russell
Shaq
LeBron
I do think Kobe is slightly overrated always connecting him to MJ but he's probably the most similar to MJ in the top 10 in terms of playing style. A lot more big men in the top 10. LeBron is definitely more overrated and not even in the top 10 all time imo. Really shouldn't even be talking MJ vs. LeBron. it's a dumb comparison.
I do think LeBron should get credit for his longevity though. He's played almost 500 more games than MJ and almost 300 more than Kobe. He's done well for himself and there is value in being able to play for such a long time so it's not meant to detract from his achievements by stating it or anything.
LeBron vs. Duncan is probably a better comparison, but Duncan isn't a complete piece of sh*t person so there is that as well. Duncan > LeBronLast edited by TryingMen; 05-07-2024 at 07:13 PM.

i have been listening to ex players discuss these 3 and the order seems to be
1. Jordan
2. Kobe
3. Lebron
this is based on difficulty to play against and who they think is the best. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

MJ and LeBron clearly on top. Kobe gets the boost from being dead. In no world is he above Kareem, lmao.
Also, NBA players are generally absolute morons. Isiah Thomas is the absolute worst GM ever. MJ is one of the worst front office/owners ever. They don't know **** about assembling teams. You'd rather have some genius from an ivy league school assembling your teams.

Yeah. Kobe is the favorite player of average basketball fans that don't have a great understanding of the game. He was a chucker that took hard shots at the expense of efficiency. He tried to create an aura that he was a clutch god and MJ 2.0. A lot of people believed him. Truth is he played an absolutely stacked teams with the GOAT coach. Prime Shaq is the most dominant player ever and carrier him, as evident by Shaq winning all 3 finals MVPs.

I guess if you want to go by whoever has more Finals MVPs you got him but you couldn't be more wrong thinking Shaq is better than Kobe
https://www.landofbasketball.com/pla...ille_oneal.htm
Finals MVP, rebounds, and blocks is literally the only thing Shaq has over Kobe. Kobe owns every other award or stat line over Shaq. You guys seem to forget Kobe was 21, 22, and 23 the years they won those titles and Shaq was 27, 28, and 29. Shaq should have been winning those Finals MVPs. Kobe went on to win 2 titles without Shaq. Shaq only grabbed 1 title after Kobe came to support him. And he only got his 4th title cause of DWade. Shaq really could not do anything without a star guard running the show plain and simple.
Best player on Kobe's non-Shaq championship teams was who?? Pau f*cking Gasol?? lol yeah keep thinking Kobe only won cause of Shaq and not the other way around lmaoLast edited by TryingMen; 05-09-2024 at 09:00 AM.

first 3 title shaq lead in points and without shaq no way in hell they're winning any of those title! a big man was very much needed during that time. Without Gasol no way he'd beat the Celtics though doc river blew 3-2 lead once again(perkins injury help too). Kobe had 2 big men in Pau Gason/Andrew Bynum to help him with those two titles. Kobe needed big men to win to go against the likes of Duncan, Dirk, Garnet, Howard.

Ok... and no way Shaq wins those 3 titles without Kobe. We're just playing the chicken and the egg game here. Obviously you can't win a championship with a bunch of nobodies. Gasol wasn't a scrub but he sure as sh*t wasn't a top 50 player all time either. To say a big man was needed is the same thing as me saying great guard play was needed.
Did Shaq ever win without great guard play? No. He had Kobe and then he needed DWade. Pau Gasol is a pretty big step down from Shaq, wouldn't you agree? That's a much bigger drop off than going from Kobe to Wade. Shaq should have won with Wade. I don't know if you can make the argument Kobe should have won with Gasol. Gasol isn't that dominant. But Kobe got it done anyway.
F*ck even Jordan had Dennis Rodman supporting him with phenomenal big man defense. This isn't a debate about whether Kobe would have won without Shaq (or another big man like Gasol). It's about who was the better player and Shaq needed Kobe (or someone similar like Wade) a lot more than Kobe needed someone like Shaq (who won twice with Gasol who is a pretty significant step down from Shaq).
Unless the next thing you want to tell me is that Pau Gasol is as good as Shaq. Because if not, how was Kobe able to get another 2 with him? Thought Kobe "needed" Shaq.

Yeah, their first ring was all Kobe. Those finals he averaged a ROBUST 15.6 points, 4.6 reb and 4.3 assists on a WHOPPING 36.7 FG%, while Shaq only averaged 38 points and 16.7 rebounds. That was all Kobe right? Peak Shaq is arguably the most dominant player ever. He was absurd.
You rhink teams with Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, Ron Artest, Trevor Ariza and Phil Jackson aren't stacked. Why are you talking about basketball like it is played with 2 players?Last edited by Derplington; 05-09-2024 at 08:24 PM.

Just going on wjat yiu see and hear in the media. Better human being probably was koby or lebron. Better basketball player. Jordan.
A lot of people say he's a real prick in every day life. But I try not to believe gossip. Never works out very well for either party"it takes a wise man to know when he is in error and a noble man to admit to it"

Peak Shaq? Ok so not only is a players GOAT status not based on a total season you've managed to whittle it all the way down to a single series to call Shaq the most dominant player ever.
But why stop there?
Kobe Bryant dropped 81 points in a single game once. Way more than Shaq EVER did. Peak Kobe Bryant most dominant player ever durrrrrrrr
So congrats... Shaq had like a great 5 year stretch. Kobe had a great career. Case closed Kobe > Shaq. Thanks for proving my point.
P.S. Really impressed by Shaq's 18 PPG in 2006 to get a ring in the entire playoffs, not just 1 series. So it looks like they both got carried to 1 ring. That means Kobe earned 4 rings, carried to 1, and Shaq earned 3, carried to 1. Looks like Kobe still comes out on top f*ckstick.
God forbid a 21 year old wasn't dropping 30+ PPG in 2000 playoffs. The horrors of Kobe Bryant!!!!
You know what 21 year old Shaq was doing in 1994 playoffs? After his team placed 2nd in the East he sh*t the bed posting 20 PPG in 3 games and getting swept out of the playoffs. SAD!Last edited by TryingMen; 05-10-2024 at 03:26 PM.

Here is the true list. Arguably, Pippen is better than LeBron when it counts. LeBron plays defense like a sissy and loses often. He's not scoring as many points as LeBron of course, but what wins championships? Great defense wins championships. Pippen's a better team leader too
1) MJ
2) Kobe
3) KAJ
4) Magic Johnson
5) Larry Bird
6) Tim Duncan
7) Bill Russell
8) Wilt Chamberlain
9) Shaquille O'Neal
10) LeBron JamesWord is Bond

LeBron is what you get when you let players use steroids, all kinds of PEDs throughout their entire career. He's an impressive player, but I've never been a fan. Nobody can FORCE anyone to believe falsehoods if they already know the truth. Is LeBron the GOAT? No. Is he one of the greatest. Yes, he's one of the greatest. That list that I made is a blend of my favorites and a loose, objective ranking of the GOAT players. If I were to go strictly favorites or completely for objective ranking then I would have a total of three lists in this topic.
