I'm on the fence of trying out CS2, but probably will since it's free.

I suspect it will feel like CSGO did when it came out. Maps and bullet spreads that people have memorized to the point of consistent ace headshots in their sleep. Hackers. But lots of funny banter.

CS2 has all the same maps as previous CS games. Just some are graphically enhanced. IMO FPS games are the most fun when everyone is new to a map, no one knows where the corners and sneaky spots are, everyone's trying to figure things out. That's partially why I like Call of Duty tbh.

It's pretty easy to learn if you're familiar with FPS games in general. Also, if you play ranked matches it places you with people of the same skill level.

Wasn't a surprise release. They announced the 27th days before. It's just a heavy update. Same good ole CS. Just now there is more developmental potential.

im on a 7900xtx and getting random stuttering freezes. like it just randomly freezes for a second here and there. other than that it's pretty good. it's free so cant complain. hopefully they fix the stuttering though

edit: after playing another couple rounds the stuttering went away

overall not bad so far

I think I still prefer the CS 1.6 gun sounds. All the modern CS games feel like the gunplay and sounds have no real weight to them

also the fact they dont have 2 available keys you can bind stuff to in the options is fukin whack.

Same deal with me as well. I was a bit too young for the 1.6 scene when it was big, that was before I was really into PC gaming. Source was the big thing when I built my first real gaming PC, so I played that all the time. I hardly played GO, for some reason it just never really appealed to me.
