I am 6'2
weight 210 ish
can rep 225, haven't truly maxed lately.
I want FID
The main issue with all 3 is the seat position, but I could put a board under the front to make the seat incline so I wouldn't slide on inclines.
I am leaning towards the Boflex 3.1 (inb4wut) or the Powerline125x
anyone have experience with these?
My craigslist sucks
wut do?

When looking at an incline bench, i look at the pad gap. I hate a bench w/ a huge pad gap.
I would go w/ the Powerline125x
Might want to save up for a better benchLast edited by 817boy; 11-27-2012 at 01:24 PM.
It surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE

The Blowflex 3.1 has a max user weight of 300lbs and a max lifting load of 180lbs. That's 480 combined, and you're already at 435. Pass.
The Powerline PFID125X supposedly has a max weight of 500lbs, so it's a little better...but not much.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of any of the FID benches in that price range on Amazon, and would probably scrounge up another $30 and order a Powerblock Sport Bench (550lb max weight)...if I had to choose something in that price range from Amazon.

Where are you located? I have a Body Solid FID70 (the precursor to the current GFID71) that I'd let go for $100. It looks like this (but in white), and rated for 1000lbs...

I live in MD. I'm making this Christmas the most beneficial one. One side of the family pitched in to get me a power cage/rack w/e. And my mom said she will get me a bench to go with it. I was originally going to have my gf get me the bench, but my mom offered so yeah; I just didn't want to get a high priced one because I would feel bad. If I like a higher priced one I might pitch in some. I also order 15lbs of protein for $100. I'm ready for bulking season.
Dropped my gym membership today, had to put in notice though as usual.CPA

If you can increase your budget a bit, but the Ironmaster Super Bench is a good bench. The usual complaint about the bench being a bit tall in the flat position won't be a problem for you because you're 6'2" tall.

You might want to double check the Baltimore and Annapolis CL.....I haven't been on since early yesterday, but I saw a few Body Solid benches available over the past couple of weeks.

I'm bumping this in response to the posts in the "CL Dreamer" thread. OP had asked about a Body Solid bench, and Twodog gave this reply:
"Dude, wrong thread for info on good stuff, this one's about bad stuff, lol.
But since we are on the subject of this bench, it's definitely worth $50 and when you get a better one it's easily flippable for that amount. I've had one and the complaints are a large gap when benching prone, and push pin adjustment on the incline. The push pin doesn't lock in so it might let loose under heavy use. I never had problems with it and sold it when a more commercial style came along at a good price. I got $50 for mine, and it wasn't that clean. Good luck. "
OP, now you are on the right track. I bought a stool and a bar from this guy a month or two ago, and he had this bench listed then, so he is probably good and ready to have it out of his house.
As I was reading through this thread, it struck me that you may not be familiar with the "good" and "bad" equipment brands, and that this may be the reason why you have been having trouble finding good equpiment on CL. I am reading a lot into your situation, so forgive me if I am wrong. Assuming that I am correct, you should check the stickies on power racks and FAQ's. TONS of good information in there, and one of those stickies gives a pretty good (but not all-encompassing) list of decent and crappy brands. Check them out, and we are all here to help if you have additional questions.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]
