Thanks man, lol I was walking very slowly on the Friday, and yesterday possibly just off normal walking speed. So today I will try to walk a touch faster again. Keeping the distance possibly the same but doing it more frequently. I have been give a rough 6 weeks for that. The main reason being where they removed the bulged part of the disc it was just left as is, and not stitched together, so I the first few weeks there is a high chance of reherniation if I did something the wrong way before it heals over. I have physio appointments first being this tuesday so it they will assess how I am doing and tell me how much more I can do before I see them again next.

Day 6 post op:
No real change from yesterday, sitting is starting to get ever more easier was able to sit for about 20-25 minutes without pain. Still only one walk today, got bored so got an app on my phone to track distance. 3.6km in 50minutes, pretty slow as was with the girlfriend and she kept asking me to slow down lol will increase speed tomorrow. Day 8 post op:
Physio today, all went well, they were very happy with how everything is progressing along, I have now been given some very, very basic mobility, glute and ab work. General pain including hipflexor tightness is reducing still. 60 minute walk today 4.3km. Day 10 post op:
Back in the gym!! Lol well kind of. Went to the gym today as it was chucking it down. All I did though was go on the treadmill. 5.45km in 62 minutes very happy with this a couple twinges as I was going along, reduced speed then steadily increased again last time it did this was about 25-30 minutes from there no pain at all. Also reduced the pain killers I'm taking from (number of tablets a day) 2/2/2/2 to 2/1/2. No really difference in discomfort/pain which is good.10% MYPROTEIN DISCOUNT CODE: 007PT56

Still been keeping with the lower dose of painkiller and still fine which is good, see how things go over the next couple days and then possibly drop down again. Pain and general discomfort is still decreasing despite a slught lingering sciatic discomfort. Day 19 post op (for yesterday):
Again another good day can't wait to go back to physio on Tuesday to see what extra exercises I can start to add in appart from the walking and mild mobility work. Holiday for a week as of next Saturday as well so lots of sun and lots of swimming. Ok so 2 walks first one being 1hour 10 minutes 6.4km which was on a treadmill, gradually worked the incline up to 4% as well, second outside as usual 27minutes 2.65km.10% MYPROTEIN DISCOUNT CODE: 007PT56

This seems to be going through so quickly. Had my second session physio earlier today. She is very happy with everything: how my walking is back to normal, painwise, mobility etc. everything has improved dramatically from the last session just 2 weeks ago. 40 minute walk on the treadmill 3.7km most of it spend at 3-5% incline although I did work up to 8% for a while and still fine. Thank, I really am, it's stupid but when you can't do really simple things you take for granted like sit down for 10 minutes to eat dinner, walk 5 minutes to the shops without excruciating pain it really gets to you. I still wake up move about and then think oh wait I'm not in pain lol. Holiday on Saturday cannot wait! Swimming will be good rehab as well

Will find out all of that on the 25th when I see the physio after holiday. I'm guessing it shouldn't be too long for pull ups maybe slightly longer for press ups due to ab side of things rather than anything else.

Day 36 post op:
Back from holiday, can't believe it's been over 5 weeks already. No longer on pain killers had to use some for the flight but appart from that things seem fine. Did about a 40 minute swim today with a few 20m intervals, my swimming fitness seriously sucks where I haven't swam for such a long time. Also physio today rehab exercises are stepping up now too, incorporating 'core' work like planks, birddog's. also body weight squats and lunges a few more stretches. Things seem to be going well though physio is very happy. Still some lingering pain though... Mainly I think from the flight home where sitting in a bad seat and also picking up and moving a suitcase out of habit (only 15kg) where I probably shouldn't have.
