    3 months of progress

I've been working out for about 4 months now, and I have some progress pics from a 3 month span (I took the first ones after I had been lifting for a month.)

    Any comments/critiques/suggestions are welcome.

My chest doesn't look much improved, but I think I've gotten thicker overall, which kind of hides the chest gains.

My Bench #s have went from doing:
    4 sets of 6 with 170lbs + 195 for 1 set of 3
    to
    240 for 5 sets of 3

I think you ought to go on a good cutting cycle before gaining weight again. You definitely have added on muscle mass, but you started from a point where you weren't really lean in the first place. My two cents: get lean, then slowly gain weight (muscle mass). Good Luck.

I'm not out to be a competitive bodybuilder. I actually tend to drift toward a powerlifting style of training. I don't think I'll cut until I get to around 220lbs.

Great Work! I especially like your back, arms and quads. In that order. Building a good chest is difficult and takes time so keep on lifting. Btw, your bodyfat seems to have decreased too. Keep up the good work!

Im going to start doing some more incline work on my chest. I think my bodyfat stayed around the same, I actually just put on a bit of muscle mass. I'm very surprised that you like the arms, I have practically no bicep...and no matter what I do, they don't grow...so I just gave up on them.

Bro do NOT listen to this guy. Bad bad bad advice.

"Cutting" shouldn't even be in your mind for a few years. If you have gained 20 pounds and you still appear to have the same amount of leaness, why in the world would you cut?!?

You are actually gaining some serious muscle, keep it up, BULK UP more bro, eat clean if you gain fat too easily, but whatever you do, keep gaining strength and muscle. Live heavy stuff, eat heavy, and rest up.

    Yea, I agree with this!

You have made some really good gains and you should take advantage of what your body is showing you -- that you are able to gain some real muscle mass and stay fairly lean.

I say keep doing what you are doing -- eating clean and lifiting heavy. You have made some real progress. Chest needs more work, but you made some good gains in your traps and tris.

    Good luck to you!

For those asking about my diet...I don't diet. I just eat everything in sight. I don't watch what I eat for 1 second. I make sure I get enough protein and that is all that i watch for.

I would take three more months to gain muscle. You were smooth in first photos, and now show definition to major muscle groups. Your body is just waking up from a time off, take advantage of it.

As for weight, don't be locked by scale. Muscle weights more then fat! So you will see the scale rise, but if you feel good, can do stairs without winded, and generally recover then it good weight.

Is there anything that I can do to target the chest alone? I have strong triceps and decent lats for benching, so I feel they take over on the bench moreso than chest. How can I focus more on chest alone?

Yeah, but I don't think the work/reward ratio is worth it at this point. Plus I like to booze.
