    Weight Gainers and Ectomorphs

    I originally thought I was an ectomorph so I hit the weight gainers 400kcal per serving (only once a day) consuming around 2500kcal a day prior gainer

    My diet is on point and my workouts are on point but I'm starting to put some fat on around the waist. I'm not sure if my metabolism is getting lower or if the weight gainer is a bad idea

    Shall I ditch the weight gainer and just hit some isolate instead? Ideally I don't want to overbulk and then have to cut down a lot.
    Ideas?

    If you're trying to put on weight you aren't only going to gain muscle. You bulk now and cut later. How many grams of protein are you consuming a day?

    You need a lot more than that. When I am bulking I consume 240g and I'm only 5'6 and 140lbs

    Did you read what i said? Fat gain comes from eating too far above maintenance. Real food, protein powder, gainer powder, it's all the same (in the most basic sense. in b4 micronutrients and amino acid profile)... calories. Use whatever you like.

    If you consume enough calories you shouldn't need the weight gainer, it's just an easier and cheaper way to get your meals in. Granted you will prob gain more fat from the weight gainer than if you got your macros from actual meals. Assuming you would consume mostly lean meats, good carbs and good fats.

    Sounds like you ought to read a bit more on dieting and muscle gain. There is a lot of good info here on bb.com. Also, LinzKaye knows her ish.

    also, Real food trumps supplements. Get your diet (real food) squared away then add supplements to fill any gaps.
