    Here's the thing though, one you hit the triple digits with the dumbells, you're confidence level will boost so high. Then their won't be anymore hesitation anymore because any increase will still be in the triple digits.

    I agree with the apprehension, I get it too, but only on barbell benches. Any other lift you can dump the weight, even squats you can dump forward on the traditional rack, or stop the drop on a spot rack. On barbell bench, I have this fear and don't want the bar to come down on my neck. With dumbells, you can drop them off to the side. Even with incline barbell it's still safe, if your pressing 3 plates, the most that can happen is it crashes down on your chest, not neck, and that buys enough time to dump the weight or call for help. That's why I don't use collars on barbell bench, because I can tilt and dump the weight if I had too...that's also probably why my bench numbers suck.

    You're avi pics look great though. Just stick with your cut. The best part is once you start bulking again and eat more, the strength will just shoot up like mad.

    Thanks bro. I am getting weaker with the cut too, but even so I thought I would regain my strength faster than I am now. Oh well, it's still a few months till summer. I'll deal with it as it comes.

    the thing i hate about handling the 120's is that it's so big it's really hard to handle.

    I have lost strength on this cut also but not as much as last years cut.

    I have seen some who claim no loss but I call bs until I am proven wrong.

    On my highest weight I pushed 325-335 on the bench and now I can maybe do 315 but like Mykonos said it feels like more since I'm also fighting to control it with less body mass.

    Gonna head out to do 2-3 hours of mountain biking soon

    Yeah, I have never been able to maintain strength when cutting. I don't know if its possible to maintain all muscle when cutting. Just like you, this year the strength loss isn't alot, but then my fat loss is going alot slower too.
    My whole body is feeling sore today, and I'm tired, but I'll probably go to the gym in a couple hours and do something, even if its lower weight.

    I haven't posted here in a while and that's probably because I don't lift that much anymore. I've been getting into boxing (training 4-5 days a week) and it's fun as hell. I've cut back to 2 days of lifting a week, and the only thing I am getting stronger at are pull-ups. Anyone else do fight training too?

    really? i think it's pretty damn easy, was hard for the first few weeks but for some reason as my bodyfat % went down so did my appetite. I'm finding that i'm having to force myself to eat my -500 calorie diet. most days i go -1000 calories cause i just don't want to eat..at all.

    yep, probably in that 12-13% range. I think I'm around there too right now.
    Cutting can be easy if you're willing to sacrifice strength and muscle. But this year, I'm trying hard to maintain strength so its coming off slow. But I'm going to try to keep it up till end of May and then decide if I should keep going or not.

    Yeah my heaviest weight was 245, then I decided to change my diet and eat right and the weight just came right off. Its getting a lot harder now though, last couple % before 10 is the worst I hear. Lost about 40 pounds on my bench press though so that kinda sucked.
