I have owned this for only 11 months. Their advertising states that this equipment is
found on every USMC base however, it did not survive this "old" Marine's basement!
Also, discovered it does not come with a warranty.

Is that a plastic cap that is inserted into the square tube? Do you rest your foot on it while benching?
I have a generic commercial flat bench which the ends of the tubes are covered by welded plates.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #53 ▪█─────█▪

Oh my bad, I thought you were just joking. Those things are cents to buy which surprises me that they didn't just send it out as a goodwill gesture.

[QUOTE=SDSammy;853802623]
How exactly did those break? Were they so loose that they constantly fell out? When they did, did you jam them back in?
Do you really care that much about the end caps that without them, the bench is just not the same and pretty much ruined for you?
I care about my equipment, like most folks on hereSemper Fidelis

I'm of two minds about this. On the one hand the end caps are a relatively little thing and don't really affect the benches performance much.
On the other hand my OCD side would be fixating on it every time I saw it lol. Even though it's a little thing, fixing the matter by sending free replacements would by of equally little expense to them and like has been mentioned would foster good will over their faulty product, right?
Which leads to another issue, why the heck is the bench not covered by a warranty? I find that kind of ridiculous. I've got two body solid benches, the gfid31 and the gfi21. Both are heavy duty and covered by a lifetime warranty for every part if I'm not mistaken. Powertecs stuff is covered by a lifetime warranty on the frame and one to two years on parts. Rogue is generally thought of as being a step above these companies in both quality and customer service yet here they are afraid to guarantee the quality of their product and refusing to replace something really cheap. It's disappointing.
One more thing on the subject. For some reason rogue refuses to list weight capacities for their benches (and I think racks too). I tried several times to find out if their flat bench could handle 1000 pounds like several bodysolid benches can but they couldn't/wouldn't give a figure. They just said many "heavy benches" were performed on them. What does that actually mean? If the quality is there why not back it up? I just don't get it.
It irritates me because I really wanted that flat bench! It looks pretty sweet lol and I like the measurements too.

One word: Ironmind.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Rich,
Shoot me an email: kris@roguefitness.com I'll get this taken care of. I'm not sure who you dealt with before, but that is not our standard procedure.
Sorry for the issue.

I love my flat bench I bought from you guys a few weeks ago but every single time I move or slide it the black inserts pop out the sides. Do you have any types of glue you would suggest using to make them stay in place? I have learned how to move it without them falling out but my clients do it constantly and it makes it look like I have crap equipment that falls apart.
Nothing is impossible.

Go to a hardware store and look for some Heavy Duty Super Glue and one night before you close your studio gym put some on the plastic endcaps w/ some painters tape to hold them in place. Then in the morning take off painters tape (carefully) and you should be good. You might have to do this every now and then but i think it is your best bet (unless you take the endcaps completly off and leave them off).
It surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE
