Simpsons was great up until around 1996, then it steadily declined. After around 01 or 02 it became unwatchable
I haven't watched a new episode in years except for a few times. Those times either being if someone played it on the tv at my job, or if I was at a friend's house
You can say it's better than most crap on tv. I agree with that. But that still doesn't mean it's worth wasting my time on. I have other hobbies and interests I could be doing instead of watching tv. I might laugh at one or two jokes an entire episode, but then I'm sitting through 28 minutes of overly-forced "humor" and commercials
Simpsons has been bad way longer than it was great. They tarnished their image. I think they should have quit around the year 2000. Actually, it seems to me like the same time Futurama came out is when Simpsons got really bad. It's like Groening split up his time, energy, and jokes on two shows, making both really mediocre at best.

FOX has renewed THE SIMPSONS, the longest-running comedy in television history, for an incredible 24th and 25th season, bringing the series total to an astonishing 559 episodes. THE SIMPSONS airs Sundays (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
In the words of Homer Simpson, "Woo Hoo! I outlasted Andy Rooney!"
The longest-running scripted show in television history, THE SIMPSONS exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. Matt Groening created the iconic family: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. In February 2012, THE SIMPSONS will celebrate its historic 500th episode. The series has won 27 Emmy Awards, been the subject of a hit feature film, created “Krustyland” and a revolutionary virtual coaster – The Simpsons Ride – at Universal Studios, received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, been honored with five U.S. postal stamps personally designed by Matt Groening, and named the “Best Show of the 20th Century” by Time Magazine.

Do teens still watch the Simpsons?
Man, back when I started watching it around 1995 I remember every kid in school quoting from the show. And teachers and parents thought it was the worst trash on TV. I remember the older seasons like the back of my hand but I guess all good things have to end. Hell I still love Married With Chirldren reruns. It probably should have ended a few years ago rather than dragged out and current teens thinking the Simpsons suck because they have only seen the last few seasons.

I'm trying to remember...King of the Hill, Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy? Let's just bring back the 90s! Family Guy got old fast but that American Dad isn't bad. South Park will probably always be at least average since it is usually about current events. But the Simpons pioneered the raunchy cartoon sitcom.

QUOTE]
I liked B and B simply because I felt like a badass watching it when I wasn't supposed to and then going to school and laughing like Butthead. Ten years later I rented a season and realized how horribly stupid it really was. I still think of Mr. Anderson instead of Hank Hill, though. "You them boys been whacking off in my toolshed?"

I started watching the Simpsons at around age 7 or 8. It used to be my favorite show. Everything started to head south around the time Maude Flanders was killed off. It really hurts me to see what they did to the show from 2000 to present day. It has become absolutely unwatchable. Like a fool, I kept watching until season 17 or 18 and I couldn't take it anymore. I really hoped that it would get better, that they would hire back the old writers/find new writers, but the show had become ****.
