Agreed that she is out of touch with reality. Yeah, see how much she loves the country when she's sitting in a smelly shack working for peanuts because her "black brethren liberators" are morally bankrupt and politically corrupt.
In a qualified sense I think it was. Not because of the hatred or racism, just because of the empirical facts of what constitutes a good life. Black people had it better, since the government wasn't corrupt (well, not in the way it is now since all governments are corrupt really), black people had homelands, government was efficient, there was (in a paradoxical sense) equality in certain fields, etc. Twenty years on and the country has been run down and promises to the blacks have not been kept. Black politicians roll through the black areas in their Merc's effectively stealing any cash and opportunities these people might have. White people also had it better. Less crime, less hate crime, better moral atmosphere in general.
OP is delusional to think that there is a middle class here. No such thing. You're either poor, rich or elite (where elite usually means corrupt too).

And blacks. Yes, the racism was bad (but it wasn't pervasive or hateful most of the time individual to individual; the state was racist more so than the citizens really) and yes the discrimination was evil. But blacks had better jobs, more opportunities, better living conditions, a functioning government, homelands and the opportunity for improvement.
Now, instead, a few thousand blacks have made it big standing on the backs of their brothers. Millions of unemployed, downtrodden blacks living in squalor. And the blacks who really did work for their success have to combat the accusations of corruption instead of the admiration they should get.

I'm leaving at the end of the year, and I haven't really got family here, just my dad who is thinking of leaving or staying and fighting of anything goes down. If anything like what you predict happens, it will be civil war rather than cleansing of whites. But I doubt it will happen, the cleansing of whites will be more clandestine.
Here are some interesting articles brah, related to the question of "was sa better under apartheid". Legislated discrimination = unforgivable. But that's a different ball game.

<used to live in SA
why do you have pictures of your "life" in cape town, but then pictures of your "friends" cars with GP (Gauteng) plates? OP may be fraudin hard
either way, Cape Town/parts of South Africa are some of the most beautiful places on earth, and CAN be amazing places to live. its not worth the daily risk of crime, or the grim future for the country though.
great holiday destination thoughOfficial Rugby training thread: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=107034291

Black Africans were content in their land?
Oh really?
Why did the Bantus then invade, persecute, and exterminate the native Bushmen of South Africa?
You did know that blacks - Sub Saharan Bantus - are not indigenous to South Africa, right?
And regarding gold. This is an idiotic point. Gold or not, Europeans would have introduced roads, electricity, modern healthcare and the rule of law to South Africa.

Sth Africa real GDP is slightly higher than Australia, check the IMF. Btw I don't get this Australian public perception of how good our economy is...totally brainwashed by that ranga Gillard and her nerdy mate Swan. Our results are totally skewed by mining of which a few families and companies are taking in most of the gains. The eastcoast on the other hand is probably in recession and our ASX 200 index hasn't moved in the last three years...Australian economy ain't no miracle story. Yeh, it ain't as bad as the US or parts of Europe, but then again we didn't issue subprime mortgages and take huge public debt so why would we compare apples and oranges?
I'm surgical with this sh*t.

And what WK *******s keep repping this "Prince"."Hell is the Impossibility of Reason"
"Cowards die many times before their deaths, The valiant never taste of death but once."
"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."
