agreed on all points, unless the scoring is 20 yards/point, in which case I think you gotta grab a QB at that 2/3 turn. The dropoff from a guy like romo or Schaub to Eli is too drastic in a 20/6 league

this is why i dont like to draft until after the preseason:
http://views.washingtonpost.com/thel...p-surgery.html
Sidney Rice undergoes hip surgery
The Minnesota Vikings' hopes for a Super Bowl season have been damaged. Pro Bowl wide receiver Sidney Rice underwent hip surgery Monday and is expected to be sidelined for at least half the season, according to reports.
Rice confirmed to the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he underwent the procedure Monday in Colorado. Rice told the newspaper in a text message that the surgery went well.
Rice reportedly suffered the injury in the Vikings' overtime loss in New Orleans in last season's NFC title game.
He had 83 catches for 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns last season.
The Vikings have Brett Favre back at quarterback but have problems at receiver. Percy Harvin, the NFL's offensive rookie of the year last season, continues to be plagued by migraine headaches.
The team reportedly plans to sign free agent wide receiver Javon Walker, formerly Favre's teammate with the Green Bay Packers.

brett favre-I just don't see him making it through the season with that ankle but the odds are in your favor as he never misses games.
mike turner-standard league he'll be great. ppr league i'm not a fan
jamaal charles-just the opposite of mike turner, standard = okay ppr = great
larry fitz- i'm avoiding this guy like the plague this season.
sidney rice-well, we all know hes out at least half the season. i wouldn't expect him to explode right when he gets back but he should be back to form come time for fantasy playoffs which is a plus
percy harvin-he may benefit from sidneys absence but he could also be shaded in coverage with the absence. apete will need to run with authority to get the defense keying on the running game. i think shiancoe will see the most production increase from rices absence
tony gonzalez-he'll be solid, not as good as last year. i don't like that he announced his plans to retire after this season. once that mindset is there it can affect performance
jay feely-i spot start kickers
eagles def-i spot start defenses

I'm going to assume this is a ppr league and that you start 1 qb 2 rb 3 wr 1 te 1k 1def. I love MJD at pick 3. The biggest mistake I see is on your way back with mendenhall. If you take a RB round 1 you must take 2 WRs the next 2 rounds. You have Jamaal Charles on the bench which is a big waste because your WRs are awful. Now lets say u went MJD and then grabbed a guy like Greg Jennings/Brandon Marshall on the way back in the 2nd. Even though I said go RB WR WR we'll assume u took Charles in the 3rd and the rest of the draft panned out the same.
QB Matt Ryan
RB MJD JCharles
WR Jennings/Marshall, Steve Smith (nyg), Jeremy Maclin
TE Zach Miller
K Sebastian
Def Raiders
now thats a solid team. WRs are key this year. Theres a lot of good rb talent in the 3rd and 4th round, sometimes even 5th.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. (9) Randy Moss WR
2. (12) Tom Brady QB
3. (29) Cedric Benson RB
4. (32) Marques Colston WR
5. (49) Ronnie Brown RB
6. (52) Vernon Davis TE
7. (69) Percy Harvin WR
8. (72) Pierre Garcon WR
9. (89) Donald Driver WR
10. (92) Steve Slaton RB
11. (109) Brandon Jacobs RB
12. (112) Nate Kaeding K
13. (129) Baltimore DEF
14. (132) Matt Cassel QB
15. (149) Greg Olsen TE
Ouch, I'm so opposed to drafting a QB early. Why Moss at 9 over a guy like Miles Austin? You know both are going to post big numbers but Austins upside is so much higher then Moss. He's younger/less of an injury risk. This team does look pretty good but thats because its a 10 team league. I would trade Brady and Moss. I'd try to get Miles Austin and Eli Manning on my team if i was you (not for brady and moss but just work out a trade for them). Your WRS aren't bad but your runningbacks are. See if you can trade brady and moss for a great WR and good RB. I'd rate your team a 3/10

Carson Palmer, Cin QB
Adrian Peterson, Min RB
Arian Foster, Hou RB
Brandon Jacobs, NYG RB
Larry Fitzgerald, Ari WR
Miles Austin, Dal WR
Owen Daniels, Hou TE
James Harrison, Pit LB
D/ST Saints D/ST, NO D/ST
Marion Barber, Dal RB
Johnny Knox, Chi WR
Tim Hightower, Ari RB
Austin Collie, Ind WR
Malcom Floyd, SD WR
This team is sick. I'm a little concerned about Fitzy's injury and Matt Leinharts suckiness but how Miles Austin made it back to you is beyond me. Miles is my #2 ranked WR this year and I do like Foster. I would pick up a backup QB and a backup TE because Owen is an injury risk but i'd say your draft was very successful.

i disagree, moss is in his final year and wants to prove he is worthy of a new contract. the pats are determined and so is brady.
miles has had 1 good season, simple as that. besides moss has brady throwing at him and with welker healthy again it adds another threat and makes the pats game multi dimensional.
so if i traded -
tom brady
randy moss
for-
eli manning
miles austin
joseph addai(above avreage)
that would make my team better? not sure if srs.
my wr are great btw in every way. and the depth is even better.
yes i dont have a big time rb but we both know that ronnie brown can easily be great if he can stay healthy. a chance i took.
i cant wait to prove you wrong.

I dont like drafting qbs early because now too many things need to go right with that WR group. I do expect Nicks to have a great season but theres just too many question marks. Your RBs are pretty good because of the depth. Jamaals value in non ppr takes a little hit. Owen Daniels is an injury risk but he has a lot of potential. I'd say you have a solid team. I would try and trade Peyton/Garcon for a qb like Eli and a nice WR like Greg Jennings.

lol okay. You asked for my opinion, sorry if you didn't like it. And no to that trade, Addai isn't good (not enough upside) in my opinion. How about Brady/Moss/Ronnie Brown for Eli/Miles/Jamaal Charles or Mendenhall? something like that. Obv u can't really trade for exact players because they are probably scattered on diff teams.

Thanks man, did a lot of research the last few days. At first I thought your suggestion going b2b WR was crazy but I think it makes perfect sense after thinking about it a bit... I fig fitzy will still get his share of balls even w/ a not top QB- def should be top 10 anyway, essentially giving me 2 top 10 WR plus players who can easily be top 10. As far as a backup TE and QB, waivers are real thin in our league at these positions, especially for the TE. The obvious roach QB's will be available. Id like to wait til after 1st couple weeks to drop since collie/floyd/knox/barber have some real potential. Even hightower has some as well.

moss is slow and old, colston is always injured, percy is suffering from migraines, garcon inconsistent and wayne is the main stud there and driver is old and jennings is the man there... i wouldnt call your wr's great, id call them decent. and tom brady with the 12 pick is suuuuuch a reach.. you could of nabbed deang, sjax or some other stud with that pick and settled for a qb later in the draft. IMO
