Shouldn't this thread have been titled **flex***?
There will come a day when I tire of listening to 80's music. That day is not today.

Yes; I was a fat bastard in March.
Now I just have a bit of a small beer belly left.
Max bench has been hovering at 275 for a while. Some days I can do it. Some days not. This morning I was a little spent from doing 205 for 12 and 225 for 10 so I needed a spot for the 275.
Bench press is my weakest exercise and always has been.
Long arms + Effed up shoulders = Weak Bench

How's your diet?
I'm on almost no carbs, and no simple carbs like bread, rice, pasta etc. Also no milk.
Only carbs I get are from veggies and my cottage cheese and other trace carbs.
Very rarely am I hungry, but still getting leaner and stronger. Not as lean as I'd like, and not as strong as I'd like, but it's a nice compromise.

diet = not good but much better. Work is really tough, everyone in the office eats like crap and we usually send one runner to pick up fast food.
I have finally learned to push myself better on the bike and it makes a big difference. I used the bike before as a way to fool myself into a joke of a work out on days i didn't lift. Now I get off it looking like i was hosed down.
why no milk?

Seriously?
Man, I gave up on fast food over 20 years ago.
Get yourself a soft-sided cooler bag and a couple of freezer gel paks and bring your own lunch.
F'k those losers and their fast food crap. That's what's gonna kill your results right there.
Every day I bring 6 whole eggs, a chicken breast, a container of 1% cottage cheese, and a whey protein shake. That's it.
I keep salt and pepper and a bottle of cayenne pepper sauce in my office.
Then for dinner a slab of meat and some veggies or a salad. Monday is the one sorta cheat meal - Lisa makes steak fajitas.
Carbs. Lots of sugar in milk.

not that i give a flying funk but they make fun of me when i get salad. it is kind of funny really. There is a good sandwich place we order from on occasion that has a great salad with 4 eggs in it that i get every time we order there but some days it is micky d's around here.
I have high blood sugar and milk has never bothered me at all? I try to have a glass a day.
I bring a protein drink in a lot of mornings and people here act like i am some kind of wacko.
We have a nice kitchen here with a range, microwave and refrigerator. The only thing in the frig is pop and coffee and i don't drink either...... well maybe a cherry coke zero once and awhile.Last edited by tmonkey; 06-25-2010 at 12:24 PM.

If i go out on a business lunch I will try not to look like a total freak by ordering a salad, but I try to eat soemthing decent, and I don't go to a fast food place.
Otherwise I bring my own food to work.
I remember when I was young working in this warehouse and I was in really good shape and eating tuna right out of the can in the lunchroom. One of the truckdrivers came in with his burger and fries and he was massive. Could barley fit in the seat. Had to be 300+ pounds and my height or less. And he says "Whatcha eatin there, cat food?" I looked over and said "Pardon?" ANd he repeated himself. "Oh, I dind;t know what you were eatin. Looks like a tin of cat food. har Har." It was all I could do to stop from kicking his ass.
But then I just laughed. Jealousy is all it was.
If you're serious man, I'd look into the cooler bag thing, and f'k those people and their fast food crap and their stares and comments. Or just bring in a bag of grocereis and load up that fridge. I've worked at places that have a lot of fridge space and I've done that too.

When people in my office see me make my protein shake in the mornings, they think I'm on some kind of fad diet where you fast - have nothing but shakes. Cracks me up. Little do they know just how much steak is consumed in this house each week!
No drama: You know where we are.

since i started workimg out more (late dec. last year) I pretty much have been eating in my office most days.
no one makes fun of me or what i eat but i know what they are thinking and i'll get an odd comment every once and awhile. My weight loss has not been huge but it is noticeable and people to get weird about it like they want you to fail (but i don't really think they do, or do they...hmmm.)
We have had some great guys in the warehouse and most days i would rather eat with them. We just lost a college kid to a heavy class load (he'll be back) but he was in to working out and we would have lunch together once and awhile and talk about **** from p90x (which he does on occasion) to heavy squats and bike riding instead of the usually stupid crap, it was a nice change. My wife has been meeting me here for lunch here a lot lately also which is nice because she will make stuff at home and bring it here (she knows i get pissed some days with the stuff here)
everything is always so tuff with time. I work a lot (more then anyone i know), three kids, 5 dogs, karate, soccer, basketball, i coach t-ball, my daughter is on 3 swim teams and does theater, ..... that is all i can think of right now but yep it is easy to say I am to busy and make excuses for anything but I have been pretty good in the workouts but eating better would help for sure.
