Don't get me started on this. I think every parent whose unvaccinated child causes some other child to get sick should be responsible for all medical costs, and if the child were to die those parents should be charged with criminally negligent homicide. I have no patience for these fanatics.

A vaccine is essentially the virus though I believe, just a dead (kinda) version. Some people can still react badly.

It depends on what you're looking for in life. Yes, I'm more free now than I was 2 years ago. I have my own place. I come and go as I want. I do things on my own schedule. That's the freedom you're referring to. It's good. I'm happy.

There is more to life than that though.


As far as family problems go, the problem is that we're all very preoccupied with things that don't really matter. We all have hobbies, gadgets, TV shows, the internet etc to keep us distracted all day long without much in-person human interaction. And included in that lost interaction is the family life. It's hard to explain without sounding like some anti-modernity backward hick, but families were a lot more stable back when one parent was able to stay home and attend to the kids, and when we didn't have ipods, computers, neighborhood gyms etc to entertain us in isolation.

What I'm trying to say is that "freedom" is relative.

From what I have been told by a pharmacist, this is not true. I was told if you get the flu after you get the flu vaccine, that just means the virus was already in your body.

Not sure if it is fact, just what I was told.

You can't get the flu from the flu vaccine. The virus is already dead in the vaccine. The dead virus simply triggers your immune system so that you produce antibodies.

If you get the flu, you already had it, or it's a strain that isn't covered by the vaccine.

Some people do get an allergic reaction, but it's not the flu.

Well, the vaccine is a miniflu, so it's possible to react to that, but it ain't gonna last. A couple years ago at a temp job they were offering on-site flu shots, and I saw a guy (former college linebacker) get the shot, become woozy within 30 seconds, and literally drop into a chair. He nearly passed out, it was hilarious. He was fine within a half hour, though.

You can't get the disease you're being vaccinated against from a killed virus vaccine. Some people do have a reaction to it, but unless the vaccine is contaminated by a live virus, it's impossible to get it that way.
