Today I picked up the leg press shown above on craigslist. It is in 7/10 shape cosmetically, but structurally, the thing is a beast. Its gotta weigh a good 300-400 pounds.
I've got it completely taken apart, separated out, and now the prep will begin to sand and paint it a custom color.
The seat and shoulder pads are in excellent shape with plenty of padding left in them for the hack squats.
I'll probably drop another 50 bucks into this thing for paint and all new chrome or black nuts and bolts, but when I'm done with it, it will look brand new!trainingwithryan.substack.com

Leg Press pieces are in the midst of being painted. Here are some pics of them all primed up and ready to get painted. I'm strongly leaning towards the Hammer Finish Dark Grey for the coloring. Then some pieces will be black, just so the whole entire machine isn't one color.

I spent around 2 hours doing those pieces this morning. I had some help from my wife for around an hour.
1. Hand sand the pieces with some 200grit metal sand paper. Leave some paint on the pieces, don't sand down to the metal. Just scuff off the clear coat.
2. Wash the pieces with soapy water and let completely dry.
3. Spray the pieces with your color choice of primer. I used Rustoleum Auto Primer for these pieces, as this is basically like painting a car.
4. Still has to be done, but spray two coats of your color choice onto the pieces and let dry for roughly 48 hours.
5. Reassemble!

Not too much to add today. I have my speaker mounts made, which will allow me to put a surround speaker in each corner of the gym. The speakers will appear to be floating, and wiring is concealed with those plastic wire coverings, which will be painted to match the walls.
I am going to pick this piece of equipment up in a few hours. GREAT deal once again!

Hell yeah it is!! You better get over there though because that guy sounds like he doesnt care who picks it up as long as its gone! Trust me, dont just take his word that he'll hold it for you. I've had people say that but they dont care and sell it anyway. Or someone would offer more money, If I called him and he said it was already supposed to be picked up I would happily offer him $125 and I'm sure he would take it.

Haha, I saw that a few days back. There is no way that I need something that big in my gym. Trust me, thats a sweet rack that I'd love to have, but its just not feasible spacewise.....
On another note, I got the rest of the leg press pieces primed today. So, this weekend will be about painting them up. I'm going to go with a dark grey metallic for the majority of the parts and then a black metallic for the remainder of the pieces. I'm going to get some stickers made of our logo and put them on the equipment, which will look awesome, since the wall colors match our logo colors as well.trainingwithryan.substack.com

No kidding! I went to 2nd wind this morning and just laughed at their asking prices. My leg press that I got for 1500 was going for 900 used and 1800 new!
I also laughed at their dumbbell prices, 1.10/lb! I paid 0.12/lb!
The treadmill I have is a Vision Fitness T9250, picked it up for 500 bucks, they were selling a newer version for 2000!
I swear, 2nd wind is a big ripoff.trainingwithryan.substack.com

I have so been wanting one just like that. The only decent ones I have found lacked the low/mid row.
