Not sure if this is the right section, but i got a tattoo covering my entire side of my upper arm done on Nov 8.
I was told i got to wait a little bit before lifting weights again to prevent ruining the tattoo by stretching it, or making it "bubble up" or getting it infected because it's like an open wound trying to heal.
Has it been enough time yet to workout? Its still peeling (dry skin), but it no longer is sore. Am i limited to doing certain things?
Anyone?

Hey man I just got my tattoo done on November 3rd and since that very day I have been working out. What you got to no is that the ink is under neath your skin so you can really fade the colors, but the only thing you want to look out for it getting the scab wet because it will enlarge the scab and the possiblilty of discoloring. The first day i got my tattoo i worked out my back(tattoo is on my shoulder blade) and it was a good workout, i just tried to limit sweat and brought a cloth to keep the tattoo dry so no sweat would get inside of it. Besides that man your good to go, i posted some threads here too about working out after a tattoo and i got the same answers.. its okay to workout, just dont get it infected with the equipment.

My lifting partner was told to not lift. He just got a tattoo on his chest a week ago, and he had some oozing a few days after he got the tat that started right after he lifted. I would take a couple weeks off if I were you.
I used to be 135 pounds, give me a break.

I started lifting again the day after I got mine, never had any problems aside from the sweat irritating it a little, just cleaned it like crazy afterwards.
Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. - Bruce Lee

Mine bled the first 2 days after, but it stopped. The itching phase is the worst but its not as itchy any more.
Was it irritating like kinda painful or did it make it more itchy. When washing it, the tat feels pretty smooth, no bumps, scaps anymore. Not sure if thats a sign of it being ok.
I'm more worried about the whole "stretching" that i googled being a problem.
I take ANIMAL PUMP pre workout and tend to get a great pump midway thru working out. Should i workout out this next week w/o taking PUMP or does it matter?
*repped everyone so far that replied. Thanks again.

I have a shoulder/arm tattoo done on a friday night and was lifting the next monday with no problems. The first two days in the gym, I would layer some triple-antibiotic cream on it (before and after the lift). Just keep it clean and moisturized - you'll be good to go.
Where am I to go, now that I've gone too far?

thanks again everyone.
Well i lifted today with caution. Did chest, delts, and triceps, plus 30 mins of cardio after. Initially, my shirt sleeve +sweat started irritating, so i rolled my sleeve up. Noticed my tat drying up (peeled skin showing around ink), so i had to apply Lubriderm on it.
Had to apply it 3 times while lifting to keep it moisturized. Washed my arm afterwards and applied more lotion. So far so good....
i'll rep everyone else...on recharge. thanks again.
