Oh ok, well I'm familiar with at least some of the areas you'll be in as there is a vitamin shoppe 5 minutes from my home. The gym I lift at is 10 bucks for a day and only another 5 minutes from the vitamin shoppe. It's a gym chain but the one I lift at still allows chalk and has some solid powerlifters and some overall pretty big dudes so some hardcore lifting goes on.

Schaumburg: Stonewood Ale House is a good spot for Dinner or Lunch. I'm assuming its gonna be near wherever you're staying. I would avoid the mall, its generally garbage and chain food. Theres a few other offerings I could thing of.
Even though I HIGHLY DISAGREE, 95% of people you wil talk to will tell you Lou Malnatis is the "Best pizza" ever. Lots of people consider it the epitome of "Chicago style". Lucky for you there's a Lou's at the intersection of Schaumburg rd. and Roselle Rd. If you dont have time to stop in the city, I'd say that's your best option.
Theres a Portillos in Schaumburg, thats also worth checking out.
Gyms: The Schaumburg Park District has several offerings for daily usage (cheap last time I checked). Theres a lifetime fitness(not sure what gym you're a member of) Schaumburg also has a Cardinal Fitness on the West side of town.
I have more advice more food advice depending on your hotel location... there's some decent seafood actually.
Lombard is further West than I'm used to. But nearby the area is Oakbrook Mall where I'm sure you'll find Chilis, etc. Theres also plenty to eat up and down Roosevelt Rd.
As for when you're in the City, It depends what you want and where you are.-Non-Rep Coalition Member "Bias Free Since 2003"

Check out city search. If you're looking for a club Bamboo room is supposed to be cool (never been so I don't know) or Alumni club.[ANS Performance Representative]

I remember watching the Food Channel and seeing there is a hot dog shop where you can get ANY type of dog, rom alligator to bison, rattlesnake, etc..
Plus the classic Chi-Town dog made with a pickle looks mad good...."What value is there in the grace that I profess if it leaves me unchanged?"

When I was hitting up a lot of demos in that area I'd typically crash in Schaumburg or St. Charles. I guess if you are bored hit up Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg and there are a ton of spots to eat. There is an XSport gym a few miles away in Arlington Heights I'd go to (320 E Golf Rd, Arlington Hts, IL - (847) 690-0270).
If you head to the downtown Chicago/Lincoln Park VS be prepared to find no parking. It's a VERY hectic area but there are a few good sushi joints in the immediate area. There is also the Lincoln Park Athletic Club (LPAC) to train at nearby if you are in a bind to train. It's probably the one demo you'll do that will get some SERIOUS foot traffic and the athletic crowd you are looking for."I just use my muscles as a conversation piece, like someone walking a cheetah down 42nd Street." - Arnold Schwarzenegger
