I suck at DS games but have been working on this for a couple of months. Did a strength build first, suck at melee, did a caster and got to Raya Lucaria. Then at Xmas I upgraded to a PS5 so I decided to start from scratch with a samurai.

Still suck, but I've made it to Caelid with my samurai and then started an astrologer build and rocketed to Level 50. I'm enjoying the caster build a lot more TBH. Going to get through Raya Lucaria hopefully soon. Although I have to say, I hate Caelid but Altus Plateau is a big jump.

By the way, any advice on Runebear? That guy really sucks and any mobs you summon just get killed instantly. Because of the small space and the speed there's no way to create distance at all so my caster is useless.

You have to stick fairly close to them and dodge/roll. You can knock them on their ass with lions claw spam.

For range you're kinda screwed. Use summons that summons a lot of guys like skeleton militia or something, hopefully they can distract him long enough to burn them down. You can cheese them with walls and ledges.

Started a newbie game no spoilers or grabbing OP chit from different areas. Just did the very first part of limgrave, only leveled up strength to 20 to use the great axe and dex to 18 to use the bloodhound fang and mogged the fuk out of Margit. No shackles either.

This game is so fukking good even without min maxing or spoiler crap to make it easier. I've used a dozen or so basic weapons already and it's such a blast. My last big playthrough a while ago I learned even the most unassuming weapons can be great. I beat most of the game dual wielding mining picks with flaming infusion. Combat is so good and there's just an infinite number of usable builds. Between the huge array of weapons and seemingly infinite customized ashes of war and affinities its just freaking incredible.

I spent 4 fuking hours determined to take her down without ashes. I used it on my first character after getting frustrated, and she went down on the second try. I felt so unfulfilled and promised myself a rematch.

Though I'm scared of what's coming, I'm also excited and determined. I took down Nameless King and Malenia. Bring it the fuk on fromsoft

4 hours in on SOTE

First 2 bosses are ridiculously hard, I wanted to do a no mimic tear and summons run but didn't feel like spending hours on them, they're almost designed to force summons and then they become way too easy, and I beat ds3, bb and sekiro without help

Level design so far feels a bit small and bland
