Which one do you use for work OP? I use metric for prototyping and reverse engineering, but imperial for everywhere in my life. It's just easier and more intuitive.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Most if not all science and engineering in the US is done in metric. For things that don't require sub millimeter precision, imperial is faster and easier to use.
Saying you're 6' is way easier to understand than 182.8cm.
A stone is 14 pounds, so 200lbs would be 14 stone 2kg.When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I find the metric system easier to use for day to day stuff.
Like measuring something in the kitchen, just use grams, easier then all the decimal poisnt and such.
Then there is woodworking. Its stupid to try to figure out what half of 19 3/8 is or whatever. Unless its a whole number its a pain in the ass. So much easier just to use metric."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
