Amateur means fighting on a regional circuit but not in the UFC.
Not a boxing match, just a straight-up fight.
Takedowns, submissions, leg kicks, all of that allowed.

You don't have to be good to be a pro boxer. I assume you mean a world class pro boxer.
A world class pro boxer would probably be able to get a punch off before an amateur level MMA guy can get in close enough to take him down. And a punch from a world class pro boxer is enough to end it. There's levels to fighting and even a supposed
"light hitting" world class boxer would hit way harder than any amateur has felt.^^^()()GERMANIC CREW()()^^^

By pro do you mean someone who’s making a couple hundred per fight? Or pro like Canelo, Mayweather, Fury, Wilder, Hopkins skill?
By amateur MMA is it just some jobber without pro aspirations because he isn’t good enough?
Let’s say elite pro boxer vs amateur who can’t cut it as a pro at all. Boxer every time. MMA guy wouldn’t see the punch coming.
MMA fighter who has true pro aspirations against low level pro boxer? Either way.
Same level mma and pro fighter? MMA guy probably.Lurking since '05 - the days of VS gorilla/cloud/goku threads

I'd probably take the MMA fighter.
I am not discounting the pro boxer at all. If you are fighting at that level, you have probably fought 100+ bouts as an amateur and won 90% of them. You have cleaned out your city and regional tournaments, at a minimum. You don't work a normie job, and just eat and breathe combat training daily.
But even a regional circuit MMA fighter is probably pretty damn good at ground game. Even a no-name journeyman might be a former D-1 wrestler or a tournament level jiu jitsu guy. He can probably pull off a very clean single-leg, and a single leg at D-1 speed is all it would take against a guy who's never seen it. And journeyman MMAbrah has already shot on a few boxers before.
If you just pull some random BJJ bro out of your local gym, he is taking the hardest shot of his life by 10x and going to sleep. But even a circuit jobber is objectively a very skilled fighter.Last edited by FAPhaggot; 05-23-2024 at 04:29 PM.

MMA guy. My one mma amateur fighter coach was a beast and regularly trained with top pros. Being a pro doesn’t mean you are better.
In a real fight a boxer has no chance, a quick takedown is the easiest thing in the work to achieve, especially vs someone who doesn’t know how to wrestle.
This has been done many times, always with the same outcome.

The amateur MMA fighter better take the boxer down quick because one jab and he’ll be sleeping on the ground.
Even world class MMA guys don’t know how to take a boxer’s punch though. Case in point: Ngannou.
Same outcome in street fights, boxer is infinitely better at timing and accuracy, hits like a missile, MMA fighter has no chin and it’s over in one punch.

You can find video of anything, cherry pick data, and prove whatever it is that you want to prove, but you’re basically asking whether boxer can beat a fighter in a fight, just think about those words, do you think Nadal would beat Federer if Nadal used only backhand, let’s imagine it’s the best backhand that has ever existed, do you think he would win the tennis match that way?
You can find a video of a horse with three legs, but it doesn’t mean that horses have three legs, horses have four legs, and fighters win the fight while boxers win the boxing match, that’s how it works.
And are those people wearing gloves in your video? I thought op asked about a real fight, Quick, do you think the Boxer can punch as hard without gloves? What do you think would happen to his hand at the first punch?

Depends on the level of boxer.
Boxing is a big sport and top guys earn lots of money. A lot of MMA guys have to have part time jobs despite being "professional" fighters. It's a talent pool issue.
Where I'm going with this is, let me ask you this, who would be better at lacrosse? Lebron James or an amateur lacrosse player? I'd wager the answer is Lebron even though he has never played lacrosse before.
The average amateur MMA fighter is an unathletic skinnyfat guy who has a part time job at Staples. A high level pro boxer would wreck that guy in a fight even though the boxer doesn't train takedowns or whatever.thats why every civilization throughout human history for 50,000 years has restricted female's rights. except for jews, and except for the last century.

Another example. CrossFit is a bunch of geeks who couldn't hack it in a real sport.
One of the CrossFit events is 30 snatches with 135lbs for time.
Eddie Hall obviously has never trained CrossFit. He gave that event a try and completely smashed the world record on his first try at it.

Im almost shocked at the amount of retards in here. absolutely stunning. You retards dont even know what Pro means. It means they are good enough to make their money pro boxing. You put someone like Canelo on any random amateur MMA circuit and he's beating everybody with ease.
And no you're not going to take him down. He'd almost certainly knock you out as soon as you try and shoot for a takedown, or he'd easily side step it or stuff it, because you're a fkn amateur, who's probably only a blue or purple belt, and slow as chit.
