Sucker, I usually grab it when its $1.99 a pound on sale, and freeze the chubs (or vacuum sealed square cubes) as there is no air in the packs to frweezer burn the meat, lats for YEARS. I still use meats I bought in 2019 that were vac sealed, and the meat tastes good as new 4 years later, if kept in DEEP FREEZE, NOT your schitty refrigerator freezer, because that two-in-one fridge has a freezer that self defrosts, which means IT BRIGNS TEMPS ABOVE FEREZING to melt off all the ice.


NEVER long term freeze chit in a fridgeratorfreezer twoinone. those suck dick for freezing. DEEP CHEST FREEZER kicks ass for LONG TERM freezing, you just need to deal with ice buildup every year or two (depending on humidity)

Down in the SW I was getting beef on clearance because the "date" was tomorrow for $0.99 per cube (pound). SO I bought a LOT of wagu/ground lamb, ground bison, ground beef when it hit those prices. Up in the midwest nowadays, Hy-Vee has sales where a chub only costs $1.99 limit 2, but you can go through multiple times, so I stock up. My deep freeze is overflowing.




But when you become a "date" REALIZER, you realize that dates don't matter if you use your brain and nose...

BRB vacuum sealed meat has been sitting on shelf for 3+ months, but the date says tomorrow, that means its ROTTEN a day after the date!!!! (NOPE, itll be good for way past that date, companies jsut want youe ating the FRESHEST chit with 0% chance of it being off)
BRB yogurt has a date, but I've eaten SEALED yogurt 4 and 5 MONTHS past the date. It was perfectly fine, no gas or bloating or ANYTHING off.
BRB dried goods last years depending on whats inside it, grains, rice pasta YEARS after date
BRB use your fukkin nose and eyes, if an object is moldy or off color or smells wrong, chuck it. If not, taste a tad and see, if its still good, you're GOOD TO GO.



My buddy';s mom is a dumb woomzy sloot who is too puss to eat ANY canned good that is a DAY past "date", its insane. ITS CANNED, it can last 20+ years if sealed (yeah contents will deteriorate, but still be safe).

I can't stand people who cannot use their brains, and throw away PERFECTLY good food because manufacturers want you ONYL EATING the TOP PRIME 99%+ of foods, they want you to throw away perfectly good food so you BUY BUY BUY MORE, even when the old chit is 97% perfectly like fresh and you wouldnt never taste a difference. People are fukking dumb, don't believe every date.


You can freeze meat in vacuum sealed (from manufacturer, not vac seal at home) for a DECADE and eat it, I know my mom has had prime rib for a decade, took it out of deep freeze and served it for xmas, and none of us could tell.

I do whole foods delivery through Amazon. Helps me avoid the plebs.

But you should be able to find a butcher who does good meats too, I know a few in NYC. Ground beef ends up being on sale etc.

Again, midwest has Hy-Vee, and normally their 80% GB sells for like $6 or $7? a pound.

They have sales every once in a while (ive seen two in the last 3 months) where I bought chubs and chubs abnd chubs (like 12 pounds worth) all for $1.99 a pound.






But down south, meat is even cheaper near sand diego area, and during covid, I was seeing ground beef selling for $250 a pound on normal sales for fresh meat, I was grabbing "old" ones nearing their date, for $1 a pound, and freezing them right when I got home.


I still have lamb, and wagyu ground beef I got in 2020. I take as needed, but 4 year old vacuum sealed meats are still good to eat (just had old meat last month, couldn't tell a diff). But now prime steaks, quality may go down, so don't be freezing T-Bones and chit, I freeze mainly ground and crappier cuts that I don't care as much about a 5% degradation./...

If it ever gets bad enough, I guess you could always switch to rotisserie chicken. Whole chickens are still only $7-$8. On the occasions I buy them, the trick is to just use latex gloves, can take all the meat off with hands in 30 seconds and the bones aren't an issue and there's zero mess that way. I'd estimate 4lbs of meat on a chicken and that's cooked weight too, it had to weigh a good bit more pre cooked.
