is God actually in control of what goes on in the world?

I believe in God and know He is real.

But does he actually control what goes on in the world? Like he blesses some people like "you shall prosper" and then curses others like, "yes, yes, this one shall suffer".

How does this work?

I'm kind of raging right now because I try to be a good person and my life keeps going wrong and nothing works out for me - then you see people who are complete degenerates and are living kick ass lives.

What's going on here?

I was in the Navy.

Some Admiral and ultimately the President were my bosses way high up the chain.

I didnt know the admiral and he didnt know me, certainly the President had no idea who I was.

I still did my job though and their decisions eventually affected me.

They didnt however sit there and watch everything that i did every day and put obstacles in my way or clear them out of my way. That stuff was just part of life.

Maybe if I had some pressing issue that needed their intervention they would somehow find out about it if it was that important. The day to day stuff was handed off to lower ranking guys to handle.

This is how I sort of see the structure in heaven.

God doesnt affect every aspect you our lives but is there supervising over it all at a high up level, the like admiral. The day to day stuff is handed off to angels and stuff like that to address unless more intervention is needed.

If you experienced what I have with the voices, you'd believe God is in control of this world. My voices "Play" us like we are a videogame. They flash colors over people to me to indicate that they are playing them. They control a lot of things behind the scenes.

To OP, God blesses everyone but when you devout your time & energy to the Lord, it gives Him all the more opportunities to work in your life. God wants to bless everyone abundantly, unfortunately most would rather choose their will be done in their lives rather than His will..which will always be far better than anything I would pursue without Him.

What about babies 2-3 years old that get cancer and die? That’s absolutely horrendous and no family should have to endure that chit.

Those babies are in a far better place. Yes it’s hard on the family but we live in a fallen world & we chose to make it this way.

My wife’s mom died at a fairly young age, & it was extremely hard on her, they were very close, & it nearly broke my wife. Then one day a couple months later a family that we often see at church showed up without their mom & you could see the heavy sadness amongst the dad & kids (12-15 yrs old). We had never spoke to them before but my wife turned to me & told me that God wanted her to speak to them after service.
As they were walking out, I grabbed a donut & coffe & my wife went over to them & ministered to them for hours..had her mom never died that ministry, that conversation would be complete different as my wife would not have been able to share in the same grief as that family. That family walked away smiling & blessed because of the relatable experience my wife was able to share..we don’t know why God allows certain things..but it will always work out for good if you put Him first, I can put my life on that.

This is my theory

Everything was made instantaneous, everything has already happened just you don’t know it because Earth is very limiting is it designed this way or was our consciousness trapped in a pocket of space that grew a bacteria to contain our consciousness

Tbh this human form is probably the best way god could give us an identity but obviously its got flaws

It’s not that God kills them, it’s just that people die as a result of the world we live in.
We don’t always know why..but I can be sure all things work together for good & God’s will. Maybe those babies would have a far worse life, maybe those babies would have grown up to hurt others..we just don’t know..but I know that God is good, & if God was small enough for me to comprehend all of His ways..He would not be worthy enough to worship.

I've been reading off and on a book about the the Kordylewski plasma clouds which are located between the moon and Earth. The author tries to make a case that the clouds are showing intelligent life and that it could store a tremendous amount of data. He also tries to make a case that all living creatures have plasma in them with some suggesting that is our soul. I don't know what to make of the book, other than it is interesting entertaining reading. The author is Robert Temple and the book is called A New Science of Heaven. He makes a few mentions that the plasma clouds might be effecting our lives.

Not sure entirely, but I do believe God grants us help if we seek Him out and ask for it. I've definitely experienced it in my life. I've had a lot of low moments and things seemed hopeless for a while. But I kept praying and eventually I got some relief. Nothing happens overnight and it was gradual and it took effort on my part as well, but I know I couldn't have done it alone.

I know some people believe more in the clockmaker theory, where God set the world and universe in motion and then just doesn't touch it and just observes how things turn out. This used to be my position before I lost my faith completely, and then gained it back. It's an appealing position because as you said a lot of shiitty people seem to prosper in life and things seem random.

For whatever reason though, a couple years after I lost my faith, I started praying randomly for my faith back and for the courage and wisdom to improve my life and my outlook. My faith came back, but slowly. My mental state improved, but again it was slowly and even imperceptible from day to day. But when I look back the change that happened in a year was incredible.
