What do you take for pre workout? You can include food. I am just trying to see what has worked well long-term for others. I started lifting recently and am still in the phase of taking preworkouts but I know this is just temporary because I don't feel much difference when I just take coffee for example. However the pump from good quality preworkouts is definitely real.

Nothing. I drink a protein shake immediately after a workout. What are you hoping to get out of taking something pre workout, are you expecting increased strength and endurance, or just better focus, or something else? I have tried coffee right before lifting and didn't notice any difference although I never had any focus issues in the first place. Also tried gatorade powder (dextrose) for a while and noticed nothing. Maybe the effect is too minor to notice.

I work out early in the morning fasted so no food for me as it will keep me full and pukish during workout hence In terms of pre workout drink, have been making my own so I can have control over dosages
