George Miller doesn't disappoint boyos. Fury Road didn't have the typical chit which Hollywood's been doing to fuk up movies: Too much CGI, woke chit etc. Just pure carnage and action.

He's already got the winning formula. Don't worry about woke chit. Mad Max 2 already had literal fhaggots dressed up in bondage gear and stuff. It's part of the Mad Max aesthetic.

Some films just aren't the same without a big cinema. Dune 2, for example. The worm riding scene was just epic - the seats were literally shaking when I saw it on the big screen. Worth every cent.

Back. Holy fuk, that was a long movie.


My honest review is that this is a solid entry into the Mad Max universe, but absolutely don't go in expecting Fury Road. Fury Road is just a big action movie with no plot. Just a big car chase.


This hits different. This movie is much more about plot, lore, worldbuilding, character development and narrative. Fury Road takes place over 2 days or so, Furiosa spans around 20 years in its story with distinct chapters, and the first hour features a child actor playing Furiosa. It shows more of the world, even though there isn't much world since it's still a wasteland. You see the inside of Gas Town and Bullet Farm and how they're run. At times it almost feels like a kind of documentary about being a Mad Max warlord, like how the dynamics and power plays work between the different warlords and fortresses, and how their economy works.

The furiosa character actually doesn't say much. It's the villains who do most of the expositing and driving the plot forward.


Although, I think the pacing is a bit off and the music wasn't as epic, and it's just a different movie. No constant action high but the action is sparser, but still good.

The aesthetic is still there, and I think even more creative this time around. Chris Hemworth's chariot bike combo is just badass, and his followers have their own new look as well, they're actually a massive motorcycle gang.


There's more depth to this one, more power dynamics and economics and exploration of how the wasteland works. Like I said it's almost at times like a documentary of a work day of a wasteland warlord.

This isn't a movie about Mad Max himself, it's about the Furiosa character. But Max has a minuscule cameo.

And it's not a woke hazard either - this backstory and lore was written by Miller before the millennium. It's just a story he wanted to tell to flesh out his world.
