Years ago my friend was telling me that some old man on his HOA was riding his bike around the nighborhood all day with a tape measure and camera to find small violations they could fine for. He and his neighbors were talking about running over him or picking him off with a hunting rifle. LOL.

Of course I have bruh, but the HOA doesn't enforce INSIDE the house. Are we talking about leaving the trashcans out or piles of dogshyt in the yard?

The cost of all services have gone up, trash, utilities, water, maintenance..so not surprised HOA have increased as a result depending on what your HOA covers.
Can’t stand them and the few times I have bought properties with an HOA, they have always been an issue.

Read the HOA covenants. You’d be shocked at how little board members know what’s in there. Before I built my house, they told me I could have a fence. Then when it was almost done, the VP who lived across the street told my builder I can’t. A day later he said it had to be privacy fencing on the side, but see thru on the front, and no fence in the back by the lake.

I read the covenants , didn’t say anything about a fence. Bought a mini pocket recorder and went to board member’s houses until I found one home. Told her (the secretary) the story, she was horrified. She called the president, this was all news to him. They told the VP to get over here now. He blamed the Architectural Review board, which he was chairman of. President told him to call them, and met us at my house immediately.

President went off on them, in front of us. Called them a bunch of f’n retards. Told them to walk around the property, meanwhile he was roasting them. Told them they are going to approve it right now, and give him the paperwork so he can approve it immediately.

Old fks still tried playing games. Said to me to put up a 4ft fence. Told them no. Told me to only do half my yard. Told them no again. Both times they questioned why not. Said because I Fk’n said so. It’s not in the covenants I’m not doing it. They said they wanted to compromise. I told them the compromise is that I’m getting the fence I want, and just to be neighborly, I won’t take you to court.

President laughed at them, made fun of them some more. A few days later the VP was fired and removed from the architectural review board. I’ve lived here 14 years and we still don’t speak, even though he lives across the street.

Probably both and worse. Who knows how many types of fecal matter are on display at any give time in Catbrah's front yard. And does the trash even make it into cans? I wouldn't bet on it.

This is interesting because somehow YouTube’s algorithms have been bringing up this subject a lot . Can’t believe the horror stories , and would never live in an HOA . Basically just a bunch of Karen’s being given authority.
One guy got in chit because a storm hit , so he didn’t put his BBQ cover on . Had intentions of putting back on the next day but was too late .
Funny thing is no one could actually see the BBQ cover was off , as they had to go through his back gate to inspect his back yards deck .
These HOA’s need to be abolished, just pissening

It's not Karen's, it's fuking old people. My last house, with a HOA, we would get petty BS fines. Then, I started taking my morning coffee outside and would chat it up with the old people walking their little dogs. Then all the complaints stopped.
