i was going back watching old wwf & wcw from the 90's to around 2010 and back around the year 1996 and i think it peaked that year . the 96 raw and nitro shows had a edge to it that slowly went away year after year until it was completely gone . some might say 1997 or 1998 was peak wrestling but i still think 1996 was.

WCW peaked in 1997 and then quickly fell off in 1998
Raw peaked sometime between 1998 and 2000 before the invasion angle. No way did WWF peak in ‘96. Hell it was still new gen era in 1996.| ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄|

96 was pretty bad for wwf if I remember correctly
It had a solid wm with arguably the best match ever (not my opinion but a lot say it)
But Bret was gone for half the year.
They lost both razor and diesel.
It was basically all about hbk, and if you weren't into male gigolos there was only really taker left to follow.
WCW on the other hand....
Second half of 96 was definitely their greatest period for obvious reasons
Imo 1998 was wwfs best year
