Thinking of buying a new bed. Wondering if they are better than your local furniture shops cuz of European design. Or are they just like any furniture backed by a popular name?

Depends on the model.
On one of my beds I have an all pine nordic frame, which is OK but if you're fat ass would not be as sturdy as some others, as there are only 4 corner posts, like 5 or 6 on some american metal frame box spring frames

Sadly no. Just a hub where I can pick up my orders online.
I was thinking the Malm https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/malm-hi...oey-s69176285/. And no, I am not a fatty.CHRISTMAS Forever Crew

The one I got is pretty decent. Had it since 2022.
Medium firmness, foam material. I almost went and bought one of the many overpriced brand mattresses online. IKEA is better bang for your buck imo."...Voidmayne...Creepin' up on ya..."

I actually had that bed but mine was the earlier design without the drawers. Held up extremely well for 15+years even though it's just Birch veneer on particle board. Very solid and the joints are really tight. The side tables are so-so.
Mine had the slat bottom which is goat if you don't want to buy a boxspring.2022 Option Trading Realized Gains: $125,348 USD

Absolutely lay on them before purchasing if possible.
Years ago I was looking and had back pain, I laid on the bed I ended up purchasing and it disappeared.
Luckily I was trying out the more affordable options too.
We had a nicer bed frame, headboard and all but sold it when we downsized. We currently have an Amazon special metal platform frame and my wife ended up making a headboard as a project. Came out decent/10
There is an IKEA local to us and the furniture all looked nice enough but at that point we were just pricing everything out and already had a decent mattress so I wasn’t trying their beds out.Sloots Gon Sloot.

Gonna have to disagree
They have this weird 2 piece slat system for the king beds which is prone to collapsing
And the mattresses are f**king terrible
Have a look at the actual slats before you buy they don’t go across the length of the bed and there’s no system for actually securing them to the side railsBy reading this post you acknowledge r32gojirra is an online persona and all posts by r32gojirra are satirical in nature. No . The frames and mattresses both suck.
They have a purpose though. They are inexpensive enough to get you through a few years but thats about it."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
